About this deal

The heroine has secretly been in love with the hero for 10 years, since they were both undergrads. During this time they were close friends, but for a time Dylan even thought he was in love with Lou's best friend. Dylan has basically treated Lou like 'one of the guys' for years. He tells her about his sexual exploits (which are numerous) and they drink and joke around together. However, during all this time there is no indication that Dylan has anything for Lou. He thinks she's hot and has had a few naughty thoughts about her, but by his own admission he's had a few dirty thoughts about pretty much every female he's ever known. At the time the book opens he is around 30, but acts like he's still a college freshman. We love to chat about romance novels, humorous book passages (whether intentional or cringe-worthy purple prose), steamy love scenes, available freebie and cheapie novels, crazy cover art, questions about possible TBR books, and anything and everything in between. We give and receive tons of great recommendations and hope you'll share your favorites here, too. I–” Before I could say anything ,Yaz had launched herself at me and I was engulfed in a tight hug. My arm and ribs protested and I felt the blood drain from my face but I managed to keep myself for emitting a low moan of pain. When it was over I still felt like something was missing. Lou has a crush on Dylan for 10 years. 10 years!!! I just couldn't wrap my head around someone who would pine away for someone for so long and not tell him or at least move on with her own life. And Dylan. Dylan is a total manwhore just tripping through life. He treats Lou pretty badly. Dylan, Grow up and Man up PLEASE. What is it that Lou still sees in him? Explain this to me. We need an overhaul of the system and advice on how to upgrade. The way we store all the old projects, our referencing system, our payroll, leave rota, it all needs to be … oh!”

Please tell me we didn’t…?’ he started to plead. Something flashed across her face, and for a moment she looked almost in pain, but her next words were said in a reassuringly careless way. And the only thing I found funny was the little boy who pops up briefly in a couple of chapters. The rest must have been a very dark humour indeed. Angharad stifled her laughter with some effort; no wonder Alun had liked the boy so much. The beautiful dark-haired man who had his arm around the blonde was not so successful in tamping down his amusement, unashamedly letting out a loud bark of laughter and earning an annoyed look from the vicar. but as Christmas rolled around he wasn’t surprised when she bought his sister a complete remodeling of her salon and his delighted mum a new blinking bathroom and a hot tub for their garden, making them the envy of all the neighbours in the village. But he let that slide as well. He knew how much the love of his family meant to her, especially now with Jimbo still away and her mother not speaking to her. Although her dad had surprised them all by visiting her However this particular female, who was currently plastered over his front, was very much off limits. There was a huge difference between thinking about doing something (or someone) and actually doing it.

Why didn’t he stop at a few social wets? Especially on a mess night out. Another wave of recognition swept through him as he breathed in the citrusy scent and his eyes shot open. He started sweating what was most likely pure alcohol as he stared down in horror at the woman who was now turning to nuzzle into his shoulder and drape her arm across his stomach, making a little low noise of contentment. Another amazing read by Susie Tate. The characters are very well developed and the story is very well written. This is another book I had to force myself to put down. I can't wait for more books by Susie Tate." Life, Books and More Book Blog. But it was so warm and the chair I was in was so comfortable, even with the pain in my ribs and shoulder. Just for a moment, I thought. I’ll close my eyes just for a few seconds. It was all business and efficiency, but I hadn’t missed the way she’d scanned me top to toe, or the cogs that had been whirring behind those sharp eyes. All I could do at the time was nod. And now here I was at the interview – fast asleep.

Don’t you think you should change first darling?’ Lou hated how her mum managed to make an endearment like darling seem like a sarcastic sneer. She managed to convey in just that one word how very far Lou actually was from being her darling. That…that she couldn’t forgive. That was what broke her trust in him; broke her love for him. At least now she could move on. That is, if she could summon up the energy. Rich was still making it known in his subtle way that he was interested. Lou had to give it to him; he was persistent.Okay Frankster, lead the way.’ Lou turned away from Dylan but not before she saw Katie bounding up to him. This was another new development over the last month; Dylan it seemed had finally started a proper relationship. If Lou had still been in love with him she would have sunk into another pathetic Dylan-induced depression. Thankfully her emotions had settled into a comforting blanket of numbness, which she told herself was a relief. She was, however, confused by his choice. Unfortunately Lou had had to lead by example, and that meant she’d had to pretend that her heart wasn’t broken, and force herself to be around Dylan as if nothing had happened. She lied to Frankie and the others, told them that the little scene in the mess was nothing, and that she was over it so they should be too. How she felt about Dylan had changed, but she still cared about him and she didn’t want him cut off from everyone.

He felt Lou stiffen beside him and he laughed. Above all things he loved to wind her up. Sometimes it felt like winding Lou up was his life’s calling. He’d even found himself wishing that he were at Lou’s flat winding her up of an evening when he was out with a girl. This for Dylan was beyond bizarre since he also considered sex one of his life’s callings, and him thinking a night of guaranteed no action would be more fun than an (admittedly boring) evening ending in the horizontal tango was just plain weird. ‘That beach was awesome mind. All those freaky pink shells. Remember the time we watched the sun come up after we’d stayed up in that little beach bar?’ The other thing they argued about was money. She had a lot of money. In fact, she had a shitload of money. Despite practically building a hospital in Africa she had barely made a dent in her trust fund. Dylan was a traditional type of guy. He didn’t want her to pay when they went out or buy him drinks, and he went berserk when she tried to replace his ancient Ford Focus for him. This time he sat her down and told her how it made him feel and they reached another compromise. This compromise seemed to involve her easing off on what she boughtJesus, you’ve still got that collage up of our elective,’ Dylan said suddenly, making Lou jump. ‘That must have been eight years ago now.’ I stopped expecting too much a long time ago honey,’ she whispered. ‘I’m fine, honestly.’ Marco started sagging more, and Lou realized that he had actually fallen asleep standing up. I realize that I gave this book 4 stars. I loved a lot of things about this book. The characters are interesting. I love the behind the scenes at the hospital. This book grabbed me and pulled me under. Is that a yes?’ Frankie wheezed. Dylan set her down and Lou could see his face was flushed and his eyes were wet. Hey,’ she said, the fear in her eyes, which he hated so much, but which he knew he was responsible for, slowly receding.

He felt Lou smile against his chest at the mention of babies, and a second later she had propped herself up to look into his eyes. Let’s not go over it again. What does it matter anyway?’ They had reached the cake in the centre of the pub and Lou shrugged out of Dylan’s grip. You’re happy I’m - ?’ she started to say in a hopeful, breathless voice but was cut off as Tom pushed past Lou and snatched Frankie up in a fierce hug.Francesca,’ he slurred, appearing to struggle with the weight of his head and having difficulty focusing on her face. ‘Bella Francesca. Sono orgogliosa.’ It wasn’t just all the work stuff that was exhausting though; she was tired of hating Dylan. To go from loving him so fervently to hating him with equal passion was agonizing. She had come to the decision that indifference was the key and had decided to look on the bright side; at least she’d finally been cured of her ridiculous crush. But Lou, despite her beauty, was just too extrovert to interest Dylan, who was convinced that a quiet, shy girl, like Lou’s best friend Frankie, was much more his style. Hurrah for tech support!” Yaz shouted, punching the air. Punched the air … for IT? Was she on drugs? “I’ll need your number so we add you into the WhatsApp. Monday is vegan curry night at The Raj just across the road and we can …” Oh, well thank Christ for that,’ he huffed out whilst pulling on his trousers and searching around for his t-shirt. ‘That really would be the bloody last thing we need at the moment.’
