About this deal

The Galaxy S10e is fitted with Samsung’s new Dynamic AMOLED screen, which is Full HD+ in resolution, as opposed to the S10 and S10 Plus’ screen resolution of Quad HD+. That’s certainly not a bad thing, though: this is still Samsung’s best display yet and it also supports the HDR 10+ standard for the first time. This allows for a far better viewing experience, with increased dynamic range when watching movies and playing Android games. The Galaxy S10e's camera set cuts several corners. The dual rear camera consists of a 12 MP sensor that shifts from f/1.5 to f/2.4 aperture depending upon the lighting conditions and an auxiliary 16 MP sensor with an f/2.2 super wide-angle lens. These are identical to the cameras available on the standard S10 and the S10 Plus, the difference being that the S10e does NOT include the third lens (12 MP f/2.4 telephoto). This means that the phone offers only digital, no optical, zoom function. Samsung's photo processing software includes AI-assisted shooting, with the camera selecting one of 30 available optimisation modes, depending upon subject and environment. The 10 MP (f/1.9) selfie camera is the same as that on the standard S10. Only the Plus version of 2019's Galaxy includes the second front camera for depth. Samsung Galaxy S10e: UK Verdict

Capture with pro-grade tool set made for masters: Control your camera settings with Pro-Video Mode to adjust the exposure, focus and more to bring your creative vision to lifeThe S10e can also be quite a colorful phone, if you want it to be. There's a rainbow of Galaxy S10 Colors available, from vivacious Flamingo Pink to the stunning, pearl-like Prism White of our review unit. However, in true Apple fashion, the cheapest version of the S10 line gets some exclusive livelier flavors as well, like the invigorating Canary Yellow and the opulent Prism Green (neither of which is available for U.S. customers, unfortunately). Samsung Galaxy S10e: Display Although Samsung's new Android interface, called OneUI, is quite a striking departure from the look and feel of the software on Samsung's older Galaxy handsets from the TouchWiz era. This is definitely a good thing.

The 5.8-inch AMOLED display lives up to the Galaxy S name, with bright colors and crisp detail. If you don’t quite like the color balance, you can tinker with an easy fix called Vivid Mode, which does what it says on the box and lets you further tweak it to be a warmer (more red) or cooler (more blue) picture. If even that isn’t enough, you can tinker with the RGB levels individually. The Galaxy S10e's 5.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED display isn't quite as sharp as the QHD screens inside the larger S10 variants. However, because of the smaller proportions, everything still looks crisp, with no loss of quality at oblique viewing angles, and none of that dithered paper-like texture you sometimes get from poor-quality OLED panels. However, we were disappointed with the positioning of the front camera , which can obstruct the view in some applications . The photo module is located in the upper left corner. This element causes blurring in the field of view in full screen mode. This detail is particularly annoying for gamers (especially PUBG fans who don't have a full view of their fellow players), but also for film and video fans. With Netflix, however, the module is out of range on the screen. Even in full-screen mode, making the platform's video format a much more enjoyable experience.. The S10e's impressive showing on 3DMark's Ice Storm Unlimited graphics test bore this out, with a result of 5,616. That result easily tops the iPhone XS at 4,244, demonstrating that while Apple still leads in raw processing grunt, Samsung maintains an edge in graphics. I was able to have a slightly larger keyboard size on the Note 10 plus 5G vs S10e. Makes for less typos/corrections on the larger keyboard.

Customer reviews

The S10e especially shines when gaming. Playing PUBG Mobile at fully maxed settings was no sweat for the phone, as the framerate never dipped noticeably throughout my session. And arcade racer Asphalt 9 Legends — one of the most demanding titles on mobile today with its extensive lighting effects, motion blur and meticulously modeled cars — ran smoother on Samsung's device than on any other smartphone I've used yet. Still, the S10e isn't perfect. In a pinch I'd turn to the cameras in the Pixel 4, iPhone XS or iPhone XR every time. These beefed-up innards translate to an effortlessly speedy experience overall and provide benchmark results that rival the very best in the business. As you can see from the Geekbench 4 single and multi-core CPU tests below, the S10e is just as powerful as its pricier Galaxy-labelled siblings, and manages to stand its ground quite nicely against the Snapdragon 855-powered Xiaomi Mi 9.

Samsung is rolling out its new OneUI 2.0 interface built on Android 10 to phones like the Galaxy S10e. Samsung Galaxy S10e: Bottom lineThe S10e is a beautiful piece of tech, and it deserves an interface that feels as futuristic and advanced as its exterior. That said, there are some things I really like about OneUI. Samsung's gesture interface is one of the simplest and cleverest I've encountered yet, as the company has just replaced Android's traditional three-button navigation bar with three zones to swipe up and trigger those same functions. And OneUI's Night Mode is not only a bit more stylish and easier on the eyes, but also saves energy, too.

The Electrostatic Fingerprint Scanner on the side of the Galaxy S10e keeps your phone and information secure. In one simple move, you can access everything in an instant while holding your phone naturally. signal/Data is still new and perhaps over rated for and average user. I set the 5G Note 10 plus to LTE mode, as this seems to make the battery life last longer. The Samsung Galaxy S10e is a cheaper flagship phone that hits most of the same highs as its costlier siblings. You're still getting the same fantastic display, brisk performance, streamlined software and generous specs that make the S10 and S10 Plus great, only without some bells and whistles you don't really need (like the in-display fingerprint sensor).Proximity Sensor, Light Sensor, Gyroscope Sensor, Accelerometer (G-Sensor), Magnetometer, Fingerprint Sensor Usability quirks aside, Bright Night doesn't quite rise to the level of Google's Night Sight. Putting aside some of the compositional differences between these photos, the Night Sight result is better all around, with more definition in the shadows, stronger color throughout and properly exposed highlights, especially pertaining to the ice patch on the road.
