About this deal

Comparing a brand new LV65 to a brand new LV67 would likely show a much smaller difference in sound. The LV67 would probably have an advantage still, but only slightly. And it should since it’s a newer model. You know Panasonic entitle their shavers arc3, arc4, and arc5 in terms of foil counts, where arc3 has 3 blades, arc4 has 4 blades, and arc5 features 5 blades. Panasonic arc5 is one of the high-end electric shavers on the market and the only alternative products are the Braun Series 9 and Philips Norelco 9000.

Moreover, there’s a lot of cross-generation compatibility when it comes to Arc 5 replacement foils and blades and this part was never explicitly documented by Panasonic.Finishing Foil: with this extremely thin foil, longer hairs get a second, closer cut*. *Compared to Panasonic 3-Blade Shaver, Panasonic Laboratory Testing. Normally I would suggest a Braun shaver (like the old generation Series 5, 7 or the Series 9/9 Pro depending on the budget) as those are usually better for reducing ingrown hairs. But again, this isn’t set in stone and the ES-LV65 might be worth a shot, especially if you can get a great deal on one. While chronologically these would be third-generation Arc 5’s, I would rather consider them visually updated second-generation shavers (given their features and performance).

While the ES-LV67 is really fast and will easily cut wiry and coarse hairs with ease, it can struggle to catch them if the hairs are longer and lie flat on the skin. Panasonic touts about the 70 000 cross-cuts per minute which is nothing more than the number of cycles per minute multiplied by the number of blades (14 000×5=70 000). If you look over the older shaver and the newer shaver, you will find the whole shaver looks different. This should ideally ensure maximum cutting power when shaving coarse hairs and a gentler shave for light to medium beards. As for how often you’ll need to replace them, that really varies a lot among different users and their shaving routine.

A sensor that supposedly detects the density of the beard is nothing new and we’ve seen it on past models as well. These are all fair questions and anyone should be able to find an answer before spending a considerable amount of money on a shaver.
