About this deal

That is a metaphor for this post. I plan to skim across the wave tops of oceanography, history, geography, mercantilism and the exploration of the Indian Ocean—ending up with a deep dive to go after some ideas and facts that I find to be interesting and useful. Male protagonist was an asshole (or it’s how he fake-behaved), and the OM was an ok guy. The name Colynah is of Irish origin and means "Young child. Peaceful dove; From the coal pool. The feminine form of Colin".

i personally loved the development we get to see in Juliet during the months before she turns eighteen. the way she handles herself, not being a doormat but not being tstl either. her trying to run away, before settling into her new life— her developments were all wonderful and i loved it. The cargo holds of his ships contained spices, ivory, silk cloth and delicate porcelain to grace the tables of wealthy aristocrats. Villiers characterized da Gama’s achievement with this statement—“He had sailed 24,000 miles to make the greatest voyage then known to history. Columbus was also in quest of the Indies but it was da Gama who found them.” Prince Henry continued to persevere, then, unfortunately, he died in 1460—unaware of Columbus’ voyage and discoveries. But what Henry had built in Sagres continued to function. Captains with familiar names such as Bartolomeo Dias, Alfonso d’Albuquerque and Vasco da Game continued to sail further south along the coast of West Africa, past the Bight of Benin and down as far as what is now called Namibia. Witnessing the death of her abusive father thrusts Juliette into a world that's luxurious yet terrifying. While I fell in love with Maximo, I fell into total adoration of Juliet. She was so cute, a bit quirky, and totally honest in the way she lived her life and the face she showed those closest to her. Most importantly for me, she was not immature, silly or tempted to make ridiculous decisions. Why no 5 star? To me I wish he had other punishments besides a spanking.. there was alot of Spankings.. few parts did drag on but it wasn't to bad.

And Juliet I loved her to she was sane she did have moments of trying to escape but she enjoyed being taken care of since her life wasn't easy.. like she has been beaten, stab off book..she did have some high walls but that didnt stop Maximo from taking them down. Their relationship was sweet, steamy and very daddy kink and few pull aways but I enjoyed that slow burn. In 1611 a VOC sea captain named Henrik Brouwer pioneered what was to become the Dutch preferred route from Holland to Southeast Asia. It is known as the Brouwer Route. It is an interesting example of the boldness and ability of the Dutch seamen who grew up and learned their trade in the cold, stormy waters of the North Sea herring fishery. The Duyfken dream". Duyfken 1606 Replica Foundation. Archived from the original on 6 April 2020 . Retrieved 6 April 2020. Oh," it said, voice low and almost...apologetic. "Oh, Tom . Well, that wasn't the plan. Hold on, let me―" and it started using its tentacles to―Tom didn't even know, but he watched in disgusted fascination as the tentacles passed over the wet area and seemed to absorb the fluid. The fact that she does not have a lofty pyramid of sails and fiddle-string tight wire rope rigging makes her, to me at least, more approachable, relate-able, and friendly—small enough to comprehend.

Please?” Harry echoed quietly, the slightest growl to his tone as he squeezed just right around him―Tom’s toes curled tightly and he huffed, maybe whimpered― “Please what?” You will find some age gap/daddy kink in this book, so keep that in mind! But, if you’re looking to tip-toe into the daddy kink genre this is the perfect book! We get an OTT alpha male who knows what he wants and he loooves to take care of his lady—in all ways 😏😏. I’m giving this a 🔥🔥🔥🔥.5/5 for frequency, variety, and talking that talk! Overall Opinion: I’m bummed because I was in the mood for some age gap/taboo type read and in the past when I’ve read books with Daddy kink I’ve been pleasantly surprised. This actually felt....off to me. I think it was what I expected those other books to feel. It didn’t feel right her calling him Daddy. It felt awkward and I cringed a few times. It could be my mood too! I’ve had some meh books lately and I wanted to be scandalized (in the best way 😏) — so it could just be my expectations getting the better of me again. I just felt underwhelmed and kind of bored tbh. In May 1608, the ship was engaged in a five-hour battle with three Spanish galleys. [3] In June, she was sent with larger ships to capture the fortress of Taffaso on Makian Island. A month later, she was brought inside the reef at Ternate for repairs. It seems that she was hauled on her side to repair the bottom but this caused further damage, and the ship was condemned as beyond repair. Supporters of the Endeavor replica, having assembled an outstanding team of shipwrights, riggers, caulkers and sail makers, began looking for another project.

Trigger Warning: This book contains references to past abuse, violence, and a sexual assault that some readers may find distressing. Captain Cook’s famous ship, Endeavor, started her life in England hauling coal from Northumbria to London. She was commissioned into the Royal Navy and used by Cook for his several long voyages of discovery across the Pacific Ocean. A replica of Endeavor was built in Australia over several years, ending with her launching in 1993. Alan Villiers, himself an Australian, says that to the Dutch mariners the continent of Australia was “nothing more than a navigational hazard” because they were so focused on the rich trade opportunities to be found in the Indies. In 1606, still in Australia, Duyfken suffered hull damage when she ran aground on a reef. The local VOC shipwright judged her to be “unrepairable.” Henry (Enrique), Prince of Portugal, son of an English mother and son of King John of Portugal, brother to John’s heir, is known to history as Prince Henry the Navigator.
