About this deal

Even the size of the latrine, squeezed as it is into the third floor with little room to fit between, is accurate to how toilets were generally designed in castles, when space was at a premium. Arguably, the only room missing is the biggest – a great hall of sorts. Something for customisers to create as an add-on build, perhaps. From the front you can see the main entrance room of the castle, once the drawbridge and portcullis are added however is it not as visible. Bag 20 – Completing the keep’s first level and the drawbridge At one point, you’re asked to lay down a whopping 42 1 x 1 tiles, with only a single diagram for reference I know where those coins are from, at least. They showed up in the Collectible Minifigures line with the Troubadour character. (As well as in two 2022 Disney sets, but let’s stay focused on Castle-themed things!) Here’s a look at the design team – Mike Psiaki, Milan Madge and Ashwin Visser, as well as some trivia on how they’ve modernised the Lion Knights sigil.

Under the castle, following the river, there are a series of twisting caves where all sorts of skullduggery can occur. (Provided your hands are small enough to fit into the limited open spaces.) A nice touch is these friendly bats – critters you might have trouble finding again once the build is complete.Special thanks to the LEGO Group for providing this set for review 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle – Set Details Update: I was wrong about the horse, it was first made available in 60327 Horse Transporter. Thanks to Hyperion for the heads up! While the set’s high pricetag might be a barrier to some, this is a 4000+ piece set, and there aren’t teeny tiny elements here, you’re getting a LOT of LEGO and a lot of useful grey elements to boot, as well as 22 minifigures, so I think, all things considered, this is really good value. Expensive, but does not feel like a rip-off.

There’s just so much going on, and as you build the set, you’ll encounter all sorts of great little details hidden in every nook and cranny – like this gorgeous fountain and harpischord.

Take a look at how the exterior wall is attached with hinges, but the flooring is a solid surface thanks to an expert-level understanding of the LEGO selection and geometry of angled plates. That aside, this is some line-up of Castle-themed characters, fittingly unrivalled – just as the castle is – to anything that has come before in the theme this pays tribute to.
