About this deal

I travel to Asia, Europe, and big American cities often for work and tend to go completely knifeless when I do. Built for tough jobs and the hands that do them, the EDC Rebar features scissors instead of a traditional knife blade. The most important thing is that it is UK-legal, so you can carry it outside of work or around your home - no locking knife means no breach of the law.

By purchasing this product from JB Tools, the manufacturers’ warranty, if any, potentially associated with the product may not be honored by the manufacturer. I am a TV and Broadcast engineer on my day to day work and I usually find myself in need of a variety of tools at hand that are small in size - and can't always carry a toolbox with me. That’s why we offer our 25-year warranty, so you can be confident your Leatherman lasts for a lifetime of use.

The Every Day Carry Knifeless Rebar is perfect for environments that need a handy set of tools, yet don’t allow for knife blades. It’s made completely of brushed stainless steel so It’s very strong but also looks really nice with the brushed effect. I'm very interested in the knife-less Rebar, as it's the only full-size Leatherman that is legal to carry in a public place in the UK - it's completely illegal to carry any sort of locking blade (you can only carry a non-locking blade up to 3"), and you can be arrested for this, even if you have a legitimate reason to have the knife/tool on you. Please Note: This is a visual representation and the product and font size are approximations, and the preview may vary depending on your computer settings. long and the scissors that replace it are about 2" long when closed with less than 1" of cutting length.

As this is the knifeless edition it obviously doesn’t come with a knife making it, as I said before, UK legal. At least for me the added cost is closer to 33% and I do not agree with your idea of who this knife is marked for. We had to set up a whole show in Germany once and our giant toolbox was padlocked and the luggage with the key in it got lost! Quote from: SteveC on March 11, 2016, 09:52:58 PM I can't believe that it would be a mistake to not list one of the known features in a brand new tool.

The Original Leatherman Rebar is one of the long standing classic Tools and is best suited to everyday working applications.

Regardless of where the multi-tool is made, the multi-tool needs to meet the local government requirements or the multi-tool can not be legally sold in that country. Agreed this is an option, but what I mean is I wish they would design a NEW tool that emphasizes the scissors instead of a blade instead of just switching in the small scissors. O members who have plenty of resources on how to do the modding yourself and where people can hook you up with spare parts as well (or have enough parts themselves). You'll notice first that their short text mentions nothing about slipping by knife-laws but rather aims at companies with knife-policies.

It’s very sharp and cuts well but the spring doesn’t work very well and you need to position it you can’t just open it and use it. I'm currently building a Bond without a knife (Rebar saw in place of knife and Wave+ scissors in place of lanyard ring/small flathead) but cannot believe Leatherman doesn't offer more options than the Rebar without a knife. The additional 33% is correct, that was a typo on my part and thanks for catching that, it's been corrected. I've come to the conclusion that it doesn't matter whether a multitool is knifeless or not because someone will still want to take it away from you anyways. I want to be able to carry my mini Topeak Rocket ratchet plus Leatherman bit extension in the side pockets and Leatherman bits in the back pocket.

While multi tools without a blade and scissors under a certain length are allowed it’s still a toss up if you’ll be allowed through security with it. The tool feels really robust, it feels like a proper tool to do a job, not some lightweight cheap type tool. I'm not going to dock a star for the fact that FW's listing erroneously lists this tool as having a bottle opener (a can opener is all that's included in this department), but whilst knocking the lid off a cool one might not be quite so neatly accomplished in the absence of a dedicated opener, it's not exactly rocket science to do so in other ways. Also, my primary EDC knife is a Spyderco Urban (British Blades forum special edition with Elmax steel), which is UK-legal, stays sharp, has OHO, and a deep-carry pocket clip, so I have no need for a knife on my multitool.
