About this deal

Luckily, the pencils are in a rack (Office Works in Australia) and I could compare pressure between the Kuru Togas. d0gc0w, The Staedtler 775 has a retractable sleeve that feels rock solid, but if you do not carry pencils in your pocket it really does not make a difference. Whether you're a student, professional, artist, or anyone who values the finesse of a finely crafted writing instrument, the Kuru Toga Advance Upgrade Mechanical Pencil is the tool that promises to enhance your writing experience. We take intellectual property concerns very seriously, but many of these problems can be resolved directly by the parties involved. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item.

I think the problem you have is the way you hold the pencil, at least in the video the angle of the pencil is kinda small 45- 50 degrees (more like a fountain pen hold) which distributes the force (from what i can tell very light touch) not parallel with the lead. Standard Kuru Toga pencils rotate the lead once every 40 strokes, while the Kuru Toga Advance rotates the lead once every 20 strokes. The inside of the mechanism is divided into three gears, and the middle gear connected to the pencil lead moves up and down using the writing pressure when writing letters. The official Faber-Castell web site doesn’t have a description of the mechanism or I didn’t find it or I would have linked to that as well.

g. 3 mm will need under 3 N to break, so these numbers are quite a bit apart – at least for the Kuru Toga.

My way of holding a writing instrument: the barrel of the instrument rests on the index finger so it is at a high angle 65 -70 degrees (i have not used a fountain pen since the 4th grade). With the Kuru Toga Advance your letters stay crisp and clear compared to using an ordinary mechanical pencil. As many of you have post about problems, I’m not sure is it because of writing in different language.

RR4U: I can get the engine to work if I press harder, so the Kuru Toga engine itself is working in my pencil. As discussed previously it might be because of the angle I use and there are also other Kuru Toga users with the same problem (i. h. schwachen, Druck kann man den Durchschlag gerade so erkennen, aber der Mechanismus wird nicht ausgeloest. This allows a uniform wearing of the lead to create a conical tip shape that provides a fine, consistent line.

The idea, as with other sliding sleeve pencils, is that you can just keep writing without having to advance the lead – because the sleeve that protects the lead is sliding back further and further as you use the lead up …until you have used up the several millimetres of lead that where originally protected by the sleeve. The unique gear mechanism of the Kuru Toga rotates the lead every time it is touched to the paper, resulting in a clean cone-shaped tip which is sharp and resistant to breaking. Allerdings ist zu sagen, dass der Kuru Toga ganz hervorragend auch mit dem westlichen Schriftsystem zurechtkommt! It might be blocked by dirt, but the pencil was straight out of a sealed package and I cannot see any dirt.Kiwi-d: Taking the angle into consideration is a very good point I had not thought of this before you mentioned it. That doesn’t always translate well to pencils, and certainly doesn’t translate well to the Kuru Toga. com/blog/2018/2/28/faber-castell-tk-fine-vario-l-drafting-pencil-review You need to press very very hard for the lead to be “cushioned”. The careful thought behind the construction of the Kuru Toga makes it a revolutionary innovation in mechanical pencil design.
