About this deal

A first impression of this perfume (and by looking at the notes) would be that it is a bit old fashioned, very warm, spicy, maybe more of an autumn/winter perfume. This is not a traditional sumer scent as we know them today, it has somehow been decided, that summer scent are supposed to be either aquatic or sitrocy, which is nice enough, but not really somthing that appeals to me.

Jil Sander Sun Eau de Toilette opens with fresh citrus notes, rosewood, and sweet African orange blossom. Well kept women who were applying generously nice fragranced sunscreen creams, oils and tanning marmelades smelled like this.

I wear and love many fresh floral and citrus fragrances in the summer of course but my absolute favourite fragrances tend to belong to more robust fragrance families, the various ambers and woods. I think it's a scent that has very particular notes, but yet you could wear it in the summer heat too. Anyone who has the patience to wait like 60 minutes, will notice more and more that similarity to Gaultier 2 from Francis Kurkdjan. A bit smoky, a bit soapy, a bit like a sun lotion and then a bit like a men's shaving cream at times. Ideal longevity for an edT (but actually lasts longer and projects stronger than a few of the edPs I own).

First few minutes after spraying it smells just like a mosquito repellent; after warming up some, it gets very soapy. com for so many years, that I even lost my original username and had to start from scratch all over again. These areas pulse having a temperature above the rest of the body, and this will help the fragrance to evaporate slower. I really never knew what "had to scrub it off" meant because no scent has ever made me SO nauseous I would've needed to get rid of it. These have been compared, and there is a similar DNA but side by side they're different, especially in the openings. This smells like a high end sun cream that has mostly been sweated and worn off after all day sun tanning and swimming.

I definitely pick up sweet ylang ylang in the opening and heliotrope and Tonka provide a nice almondy-vanilla spiciness. It's fruity and sweet, but not in a way a random celebrity fragrance would smell, for example (and by that I don't want to imply all celebrity perfumes smell like that or that it's bad to smell like that, it's just what occurred to me at first as an example of a typical, fresh, fruity-sweet smell). Jil creates classics - no big surprises - just beautiful sun warmed florals with just the right amount of sweet.

Well, last week I finally caved and decided that if it kept being stuck in my head like that, it meant that I had to finally get it. It has always been strong in sillage and longvety, so you would smell that in buses, public pools, on teachers, everywhere. I must be honest, it is SO SWEET that it is obnoxious- hence why I don't wear it out and about town.
