About this deal

This is a ridiculously hilarious, fun, self-aware and thoughtful memoir of someone who has aged gracefully from the rock n'roll heyday of the early 1970s. His humble humanity makes it so compellingly authentic that I shed a few tears between the laughter. Simpson could not climb up the rope, Yates could not pull him back up, they could not communicate and, although they could not know this, the cliff was too high for Simpson to be lowered down. Many musicians use writing partners for their books to help them express their feelings and recount their experiences.

Post-Sabbath projects are detailed, but the book never devolves to boredom like some memoirs do, once the time period for which the reader ultimately picked up the book has passed. In Into the Void, Butler tells his side of the story, from the band’s beginnings as a scrappy blues quartet in Birmingham through the struggles leading to the many well-documented lineup changes while touring around London’s gritty clubs (Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa, and The Who makes notable appearances! With over 70 million records sold, heavy-metal pioneers Black Sabbath are one of the most influential bands of all time. Fear not to plunge headfirst Into the Void, for it offers a guided tour through the labyrinth of Black Sabbath's iconic past, narrated by the man who lived it all.He provides a lot of detail about the various stages of their career, the grim lives they had growing up, and the early stages of the band. The magic doesn't wane with time - "The Devil You Know", finely crafted by Heaven and Hell (well, that was Dio's Sabbath, all right), along with "13" (despite the extremely dubious ascendance of Rick Rubin in the producer's galaxy, let's face it, the bloke's useless, and Butler seems to agree with me, hey!

He shows how what Sabbath was all about comes from a moral worldview (at its best), and also the damage drugs, drink, and debauchery created for its many members.

One day he met Ozzy who had wanted to be a vocalist and guitarist but eventually stopped being a guitarist. Essentially, it's one hundred pages of very, very detailed descriptions of climbing up a mountain - who belayed when is covered in full detail, as is when they stopped to make a brew. Sebuah cerita tentang perjuangan melawan kemustahilan, determinasi untuk hidup dan ketegaran yang disajikan dengan sangat intens oleh seorang Joe Simpson. The challenge remains dealing with current irregular and hybrid threats, at the same time as preparing for an uncertain future, as threats and technologies evolve at a dizzying pace. The thing is, it seems impossible that either one, especially the author, could survive what happened to them.

As time went on they went on tour after tour after tour and eventually got into the bad drug side almost ruining the band and ended in Ozzy leaving, and had Ronnie James Dio' join but after switching through singers Ozzy had come back putting everything back to normal as they made more music. Not since Moses climbed up Sinai to meet his maker has the story of a man, a mountain, and a brush with infinity attracted so much attention as Joe Simpson’s Touching the Void (1988). And third, Into the Void makes the reader feels like they have obtained insight into who Geezer Butler is as a person, outside of the fame and fortune of his band.A man whose down-to-earth, honest clarity exists in contrast to his mystical and spiritual openness. Normally an autobiography is boring until they ‘get famous’ but Geezer paints such a picture of his early life growing up in Aston, Birmingham that it’s every bit as interesting as the rest.

It shows the band appearing in a tableau of stiffness, with an unforgettably unique detail: drummer Bill Ward, donned in his girlfriend's red tights. At long last, Geezer is ready to tell his side of the Sabbath story, from early days as a scrappy blues quartet through to the many lineup changes, the record-breaking tours and the international hell-raising with Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Bill Ward. Simpson has certainly made the most of his ordeal, publishing a bestselling book, speaking on several lecture tours, and even appearing in the film version. He made his decision about meat when he was a child, again with no example – his family was not packed with vegetarians and vegans. If you receive a shirt but decide that it is either too large or too small we will be happy to exchange it for the correct size.

Of course, high adventurers like them wouldn't normally reclimb the same mountain and probably would advise against rereading Joe's narrative again. Geezer explains how each bump came and went as he progressed from a boy with a dream to a superstar of rock 'n' roll.
