Harry Findlay and Paul Barber were on a high amid the throng waiting for the horse in the unsaddling enclosure. I’ve just finished reading this book and I can thoroughly recommend if you’re looking for some reading material currently.The horse was more workmanlike and resolute in victory than anything else, but it was a flat, right-handed speedster's track and far from ideal for a big, staying horse like him. I stood there thinking: 'Win or lose, I won't get this feeling again, there won't be another Denman. Eventually the greyhound side folded and despite various attempts to re-open, it seems to have finally closed it’s doors earlier this year. His punishment was reduced to a fine but Findlay’s reputation was “blitzed”, even when defended by AP McCoy and Clare Balding.
If you have seen the online documentaries following Harry Findlay in the 1990’s it’s unlikely the highs and lows included will disappoint. Imagine going to heaven and finding out that there's no racing, no betting, no good food and no women. But in fact he had it several times over and lost it, along with everything else including his family home.
It was a great way to make sure we all enjoyed complete privacy, although I don't thing Harry meant to do that!

As others have said, the writing style is sometimes a bit jumpy and all over the place but nevertheless, really enjoyed the book and all the tales. I won’t spoil any more detail in case anyone fancies reading it but interestingly they were predicting that TB would be chairman and get us to the PL long before many of us knew who he was.All Harry's horses managed to win for us, one won four races as a two year old and we had a lot of fun.
