Like many of SM's books, this is mostly told in the h's POV, but the few/key chapters in the H's POV make a difference. I feel if this happens it's similar to her other content and I actually like Dare in the sense that he is a true villain. I didn’t get a great feel for the characters, Aubrey was a hard working girl, determined to do everything and anything she could to help her mum with her battle against cancer, since her dad walked out. See the opening author’s note for more explicit triggers, but know this is a very dangerous relationship with a very dark hero. He didn’t set out to make her fall in love with him, and she didn’t set out to make him jealous enough to sabotage all of her potential relationships, but that’s where these two lovebirds find themselves in Wrapped in Red.I really never knew what Dare or Anae was going to do which made it exciting and page turning to read. Then they have that private talk in the empty classroom and he’s doing more sexually suggestive threatening, grabbing, squeezing, and holding her by the throat, leaning into her air space. I let him fuck me, but I don’t know how to feel about not participating—and I can’t the way he has me pinned here. I thought I knew what love was, but he opened my eyes to depths invisible to anyone who doesn’t know him. The concept is brilliant and I love how on the edge it made me, as a reader, want to keep reading, but Dare seriously makes you stop and wonder what’s going on in his head, because he’s possessive AF and his notions of love are very real to him, but very outside of the norm of society.
