About this deal

Nasuada eventually learns that Galbatorix is fielding a massive army against them, and sends for help from the dwarves and Eragon. The collector’s edition also features six glossy, full-colour original illustrations by award-winning artists John Jude Palencar (original artist of the Inheritance Cycle book covers), Michael Hague, Donato Giancola, Ciruelo Cabral, and Raoule Vitale, as well as Christopher Paolini himself.

Eragon, a farm boy, stumbles upon a suspicious blue stone while hunting in the Spine (an area that few would go to even in the best of times). Even though he blatantly took ideas from pioneers in their respective fields, that isn't what bothers me the most.He makes another romantic attempt on Arya, but she gently rejects him, and leaves to rejoin the Varden.

What caught my eye was the dragon on the front cover (I love dragons, and my "artistic eye" was captivated by the artwork). Humans are a big part of the story (especially when Roran becomes a big character later in the series). A memory of her scent, accompanied by a yearning and a sorrow, an aching absence for what might have been and now was lost. A young, normal and boring girl is thrown into saving mankind against the somehow twisted and corrupted government. This new edition is be bound in blue faux-leather and features an entirely new gold-foil line art cover by artist Ciruelo Cabral. I did finish it, but only so I could know (entirely how much) Christopher Paolini (the supposed 16-year-old author-genius) had plagiarized J. There are also themes of religion and atheism, the dwarves being highly religious, the elves being atheists, and Eragon, growing up without a religious background but a set of superstitions, wondering if there are higher powers. There are dragons and elves, sword fights and unexpected revelations, and of course, a beautiful maiden who's more than capable of taking care of herself. This fall, Knopf celebrates the 10 th anniversary of this worldwide phenomenon with the release of a collector’s edition of ERAGON.

An omnibus of Eragon and Eldest was published on July 8, 2008 and included then-unseen manuscripts by Paolini. She read Eragon’s fortune (side note: this made me happy because it proves that Paolini knew exactly where he was going with this story when he started the book) and said it was nigh impossible to see.First edition, first printing (full number line) of Eragon by Christopher Paolini, personally signed by Paolini on a tipped in signature page. Sometimes the number line is also accompanied by the words ‘first edition’, but be careful because some publishers leave on the words ‘first edition’ even when the book is in its third printing and that fact is reflected in the three in this number line. Even her characterization is sacrificed because she's used as a plot device by Paolini rather than fleshed out as an actual character.
