Those of you in the market for a thin power bank will be well served by the Crave Plus portable charger. The wall charger that comes with this power bank only has a single PD port and a single white power light that turns on when you plug the wall charger in. As noted above, the Crave Plus family of power banks covers just two models, and today we have the smaller, 10,000mAh option in our hands. It does not get too warm, but it is noticeable to the touch, and it’s to be expected because that’s a lot of power for a power bank to output.

At the end of the day, how does the Crave PowerPack 2 (Model CRVPP102) stack up to other power banks on the market?

There are three ports on the bottom of the pack: a microUSB port for charging the pack, and then a USB-C port for charging the pack or other devices, and a standard USB port. This will power most smaller laptops while you’re using them, and will recharge any USB Type-C laptop. To put everything into perspective, the two USB 3 ports are equipped with Quick Charge capabilities.

And the 18-watt port is relatively powerful, too, sufficient for charging smaller laptops while they’re in use. In my time testing this product, I found it to be a great way to quickly set up a charging station when on location or at a hotel. Recharging this 50,000mAh power capacity may sound like a long waiting task, but it’s much faster than you think. On the left edge of the pack, you’ll find a power button, along with four status lights that represent the battery’s charge level in 25 percent increments. My Apple laptop can be charged via USB-C, my Sony cameras can be charged via USB-C, my Rode wireless microphones and shotgun microphone are USB-powered, as is my external camera monitor, my headlamp and flashlight, my wireless headphones and of course my phone.Unless you absolutely, positively need to fly with a power bank this size, you’ll want a smaller alternative. But what if you need a smaller, more portable power bank, you’re going to need to accept less capacity. I actually have a pair of these chargers, so I could conceivably charge 4 batteries at the same time, as well as charging my phone and laptop.
