She shifts the topic away from that quickly and ensures his silence one last time before she goes back to her usual self and leaves. With these two hierarchies established, it’s not hard to make a connection to capitalism or other economic systems that thrive on the same premises. Kiyotaka swears to silence, and then questions her on her behaviour and why she is so upset with Horikita. An unnamed person speaks to the reader of the novel, asking them to think about the state of society. He notices that she was not leaving the library, but was instead heading to the roof so he tails her quietly, curious about what she's doing. Short of dismantling the entire system, the least we can do is not blame an individual’s personal failings for the disadvantages beyond their control.

She also reveals that only students in Class A are guaranteed the 100% post-high school education and employment guarantee that Advanced Nurturing High School promises their students, which Teruhiko Yukimura protests about. He states that the student council is looking for new students to fill the openings from the new school year and that only exceptional students will be considered for the spots. Kiyotaka counters by saying that the school bases things off merit and not strictly academic success, and that there might be punishments that they are unaware of should a student be expelled. Kiyotaka plans to complain to the school, but Chabashira says the expulsion can't be overturned that way. After meeting Suzune Horikita and Kikyō Kushida, two other students in his class, Kiyotaka's situation begins to change. It’s one that the author directly intended to make a connection to as well, according to the afterword, and it makes for a pretty interesting story too. A lot of useless items in the anime was skipped here, which was nice to see, and I like how the anime sticks to quite a lot of the content in the light novel, which was easy to connect to. Kushida resolves a few conflicts among the students while Kiyotaka and Horikita discuss the events that transpired. After the conclusion of the races, Kushida goes up to Kiyotaka to compliment him on his fit body, to which he again attributes to genetics, similar to what he had just told Horikita.

In fact, I’d go as far to say that I was emotionally moved by the story told in these first two volumes, in a way that I didn’t expect at all. They spend a lot of time going through the motions, to the extent that some scenes may feel frivolous and repetitive.Chabashira realizes that he is aware of how the point system works and agrees to sell the point to him for 100,000 private points.
