About this deal

To try to better understand how long a TV should last, we're running 100 TVs through an accelerated longevity test for the next two years. Still, the Hisense gets a bit brighter, is more colorful, and has better contrast, helped by its superior local dimming solution. The body of the unit is nice with a gunmetal style finish that looks much more expensive than it is. It's still a cheap TV, though, and it has limited picture processing capabilities and fewer features than the more expensive models on this list.

When watching Jason Statham flick The Mechanic, a quick flurry of movement would cause sections of the screen to lag behind others. Motion was also reasonably good with 24fps material looking decent for the most part, with only occasional judder noticeable with Ultra Smooth Motion switched off. Not only can you use this to control the TV but like a standard smart speaker, you can get answers to your questions and it’ll work with the rest of your smart home as well. so while it is possible to set it up by yourself it’ll be much easier if you have another person to lend a hand. You also can’t stick to a static image, meaning you’re condemned to cycle through various pictures against your will. You won’t be able to do so hands-free though, you'll have to press and hold the button on the remote each time. You’ll have to sacrifice on build quality but you’ll still get both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support. These TVs upgrade Hisense’s other lines’ traditional LED panels to Quantum ULED panels as well as supporting the full suite of HDR functionality, in addition to bringing full-array local dimming to the table.

I really enjoyed the look, even with 1080p content it still looked sharper and more vibrant than I’m used to, making for a worthwhile upgrade. It is not intended to be used for critical movie viewing in a dimly lit environment and it is not really an HDR TV, even though it can playback HDR content, it is just not bright enough to fulfil that role.
