By offering video capture in a DSLR, Canon has made it possible for filmmakers to play with depth of field the way they never could, taking advantage of the relatively big APS-C image sensor and the wide assortment of Canon lenses. Monochrome – for black and white shooting with a range of filter effects (yellow, orange, red and green) and toning effects (sepia, blue, purple and green). The resulting image will have less quality than when staying within the native ISO range, but it can be useful in certain situations. The Canon EOS 500D is the company’s latest addition to the DSLR lineup and has positioned the three-digit EOS range – originally introduced as a budget, entry-level option – as an advanced series, bringing some seriously impressive features with it. I agree that the 550D specs come up to a higher standard than the 500D but in my book the 135mm lens would limit some of the photos I take.

The flash itself sits nice and high above the lens and will cover wide enough for a 17mm lens focal length (27mm equivalent). The 500D works almost in exactly the same way, recording high-definition, wide-screen video in 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution in MOV format using the H. Canon’s Full HD products feature the same maximum resolution available for HDTV’s (1920x1080 pixels), ensuring outstanding clarity.Dardie, as with most things there will be a learning curve going from a 'point and shoot' to DSLR but in the long run I feel it is well worth the effort with the results you will be able to achieve! You can also delete an image, rotate an image, view a slideshow, protect images so that they cannot be deleted, and set various printing options.
