About this deal

He has dropped out of school because he just doesn't see any point to it, and his parents don't seem to care about him.

The various chapters in this book run a range of tone, from an almost childish-feeling one where Ko gives Nazuna one of a matching set of walkie-talkie watches so they can more easily talk with each other at a distance (this is set up with an episode where she fails at understanding cell phones), to one with much more adult-feeling banter where Ko meets a childhood friend. He is initially apprehensive of Ko's dream of becoming a vampire after they are attacked by one, but after learning the woman he fell in love with, Kiku Hoshimi, is also one, he decides to let himself be turned too. Along with the conversations he has while out and about at night, he spends time ruminating on life and the human / vampire condition. He decides he wants to become a vampire, but to do so he needs to fall in love with the potential vamp-parent. There is a theoretical rule, never observed, that suggests if a vampire loves a human and bites them, then the human dies. She is hopelessly in love with Nazuna's mother, Haru Nanakusa, the woman who turned her, and due to how similar Nazuna looks to her mother, she has a tendency to act like an overbearing and doting parental figure, while also venting her own feelings toward Haru at Nazuna.

As such, he offers to exchange their contact information, but she tells him she does not have a phone. Most of them are either nonexistent or have mundane explanations, but while checking a "haunted" classroom they stumble upon an old man who pounces on Akira and tries to drink her blood. However, Nazuna saves him just in time, as she explains she should just drink all of his blood and kill him. The art style was different from what I usually go for, but was something I also enjoyed about this volume.Sentai Filmworks has licensed the series in North America, Europe, Oceania, and selected Latin American and Asian territories. Unable to sleep or find true satisfaction in his daily life, Ko Yamori stops going to school and begins wandering the streets at night.
