One thing that didn’t resonate with me at all was in the beginning where he talked about how sad his future self would be that the current time is gone, and how his future self would give anything for just one more moment now. The book explains the concept of a Future Self and how to create a powerful one for ourselves, no matter our circumstances. And as Hardy’s example shows, systemizing and scheduling are tools that unlock fast, almost effortless growth. Benjamin Hardy has laid out the groundwork and science so that you can not only know your Future Self intimately, but you can also transform your life.

But, by the end some of the key actions were things like praying or saying you are the thing you want your future self to be. Instead, say hello to your future self and get ready to become more than a collection of half-hearted, New Year’s goals could ever offer.

If you seek learning, growth, and new experiences, you’ll be able to imagine a different and better Future-Self than you currently can. Although I do not agree with his theological view of God and the concept of human beings becoming gods or goddesses, I understand that an enlightened view of God is important. I'm sorry I use to word reek but I smelled it when I first heard Hardy speak, before knowing anything about him, I googled "is Benjamin Hardy a Mormon" within the first 5 minutes of his talk. Viktor Frankl, whom Hardy quotes liberally in this book himself wrote, "Don't aim at success - the more you aim at it and make it a target, the more you are going to miss it.As an aficionado of self-help, I was excited about this book but there's really nothing new added here that's added to the genre.
