About this deal

Obviously Morrison wants to spin his own crazy yarn and doesn't bother with Bat's famous rogues, but rather creates a few new ones himself. The question of whether Bruce is awake or hallucinating is also a fun one (and yet another Silver Age connection) [4+/5]. Damian wants to replace Tim Drake as Robin, because he fells that as Batman's son, he's the only one that deserves to be Robin. Like him or not, Grant Morrison’s arrival on a superhero title almost always makes for appointment comics.

It’s not surprising that some fans bristled at the introduction of Damian when many of them had made up their minds that the original Robin turned Nightwing, Dick Grayson, would be the heir to the Bat-mantle, or maybe Tim. The last two issues in here are just the icing on the cake with "what the butler saw" how it recaps everything mayor happening to Batman in a neat and interesting way.Grant Morrison's interpretation of Batman as an almost superhuman who can defeat every threat when he's well prepared is amazing and iconic.

Batman doesn’t go along with this, and Talia makes it appear like she and Damian are killed in an explosion. Bruce Wayne is back under the cowl, and to better serve his mission, he's trained heroes around the world, along with the help of longtime allies such as Catwoman and Batwoman. To read them earlier would be correct in a chronological sense, but will spoil some of the tension in that story.

Morrison is known for his non-linear storytelling, which becomes incredibly clear in an omnibus such as this.

It’s not my favorite part of Morrison’s run, but I always applaud them for doing weird experimental things rather than repeatedly retelling the same stories. It doesn’t help matters that Morrison’s work on the 700th issue of the Batman comic book seems unfairly compressed compared to the issues that followed. During his time on the book, from 2006 to 2013, he created Damian Wayne – and you can find more information about that here – and took the Dark Knight from the brink of death to the edge of madness.

Batman has had several epic single-author runs in his modern history, from the likes of Denny O’Neil, Doug Moench, Chuck Dixon, Greg Rucka, Ed Brubaker, Scott Snyder, and more! The pits are known to warp the psyche of those who use them, so making Jason a murderous anti-Batman would be the way to go if the editorial insists on keeping him around.

They all come to Mayhew’s island after receiving invitations only to find out this is an Agatha Christie type of situation with someone in the shadows plotting to kill them off one at a time. Morrison continues his earth-shattering run on the Batman titles with this exciting series illustrated by hot artist Yanick Paquette who features the next stage of evolution of the Dark Knight. Also, I really enjoyed the way Morrison wrote Bruce and Alfred's relationship, like a caring father and his son. This is a series I would like to say absolutely nothing about and let individuals who are interested in it be able to find the pieces themselves.
