About this deal

These split out from stereo mini-jacks, as on the One, but are all independently assigned Gate, Note or modulation connections. A new addition in Version II is the built-in stereo speaker, which, together with the rechargeable battery that allows up to five hours of mains-independent operation, is predestined for use outside the studio environment. For other views, though, the overlay obscures what's on the screen, and I ended up turning the feature off.

Because of your book and tutorial files I consider myself a power user for the first time in my life. Regardless of which groovebox I’m using, there’s always a point where I go from exploring and sketching, to transitioning into mixing and working on the final arrangement of a track. MPC's project structure has more in common with a drum machine or Elektron device, where each Sequence is an independent entity. Introducing the Akai MPC Live Standalone Music Production Center, the small but mighty MIDI controller that features numerous ways to make sure you stay creative for longer, whether that is in the studio or on stage.

Put simply, it’s a professional production workstation with the expressivity and intuitiveness of an instrument. Being able to easily pivot from creator to performer means more people have the opportunity to see and hear your music. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. Mediocre battery life - if I understand correctly, you should be happy if you get about an hour of use unplugged. You can easily install our MPC expansions into any 'standalone' MPC by copying them to your MPC's SD card, USB drive or internal SATA drive (if you have one installed).

One youtuber thinks its a stand-alone MPC Studio, which concerning Akai's track record, just might be. This latest revision of the Live hardware shows that MPCs aren't being phased out in favour of the Force; the two will run in parallel, and might hopefully cross-pollinate in cool ways.

I highly recommend the Akai-people resonsible for the MPC Live manual to have a look at it and learn as well.

I was looking for a piece of gear that I could Sample, Sequence, drive midi gear and produce 80's type music on - its a complex piece of kit at first, whoch you have to persevere with to understand - one week in I think I have the concepts - its now the detail I need to get into - there seems to be a lot you can do with this mighty machine!Yeah, this is the sound advice and I actually have a trial license for Suite and the clock is ticking. If I capture, say, 16 bars in a track, I want to be able to set an in and out loop point on that track. Every feature you'd ever need is right there, simply a flick away, there's really nothing else to it.

Built-in monitors - They’re actually surprisingly useful to quickly get a feel for the levels of the elements of a track, and the kids love using it that way.The Pad control buttons along the top of the unit have shuffled together to make room for four more, along with a much better master volume pot. Akai's MPC Live weighs in at less than 6lbs and brings about the next generation of super-portable music production.
