Originally I wanted to go with a light bar but I wanted the ability to move the lights in the direction of my work site. These magnets are half the size and probably three times as powerful as the larger magnets I was using.
If the bar doesn't have the 3M tape already installed, such as the Putco Blade bar, I added the tape to the magnet and then stuck it to the bar. Not being picky, but I just don't see the reason you (or anyone else) needs a full size warning light on their vehicle.
