About this deal

I like my thrillers to keep me guessing and trying to predict what will happen, and that's why I have enjoyed this book so much. Sir Michael Caine knows a thing or two about gangs: whether that’s joining one as a kid, or playing them in movies for over 50 years.

Close Your Eyes is the story of Martha who gets caught up in a murder investigation when her bosses wife is found bludgeoned to death. Then Rachel also takes us back in time when we see a young family moving into a new home in Liverpool. Jokių žiaurumų, šaudymų gaudymų, jokio karštligiško skubėjimo, bet uch kaip įtraukiančiai ir gerai viskas sudėliota, supainiota ir galiausiai išvyniota! Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Martha Porter is suspected of a murder, and seems to incriminate herself by covering her tracks and disappearing. As teenagers, Mallory and Nathan were part of a close-knit group of six friends until a vicious argument drove them apart. India's story unfolds- the daughter of a woman who questions her purpose, wandering until she finds Aram.

Slowly the author starts to reveal more about Martha and her past which is not a comfortable read, but the reader begins to understand why Martha is so terrified of being caught. This wasn't the usual murder mystery story, it has an unsettling background theme that gives you a tale of how easy it is to get pulled into a cult environment and the methods they use to trap people. From the outset Martha comes across as super efficient but her detached and unfriendly manner makes her the subject of office gossip and not instantly likeable.Told from the perspectives of Martha, Tom and his investigation and a flashback to the past Rachel has cleverly brought it all together to create another hard to put down book. Then, of course, we have our eponymous hero Tom Douglas, the kind of policeman we would all want on our side. Although Becky's role is largely just investigative this time around, we do get to see a little bit more of how some recent changes in Tom's domestic situation are starting to impact upon his working life. The only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force tactical air controller, he went on to set records in numerous endurance events.

His company, XO-Tech have a small workforce and when the investigation team visit the offices, it becomes clear that there's one person who doesn't want to be involved in any questioning.Mixing the points of view of Martha and the police with some scenes from Martha's past, we are able to build a clear picture of why Martha is on the run and what she stands to lose if she is caught. Today I’m delighted to share my thoughts on Close Your Eyes, the latest Tom Douglas thriller by Rachel Abbott. The victim, Genevieve Strachan, is the pampered wife of Niall, the head of a rising cutting edge tech firm. I’ve just finished this (an advanced copy) and once again Rachel has woven together a fantastic story. The going back and forth in time didn't bother me because the transitions were smooth and they gave the right amount of information, allowing you to play detective while you read.

The author deals with some extremely serious and disturbing issues as the reader learns more about Martha, and her previous life. Her latest offering was, as expected, clever, intriguing and completely absorbs you from the first page.In The Psychology of Money, award-winning author Morgan Housel shares 19 short stories exploring the strange ways people think about money.
