Palomino founder Charles Berolzheimer, whose family’s roots in the pencil industry date back to the mid 19th century, used the company’s unique supply relationships to re-introduce Blackwing pencils.

Pencils are a tribute to the Golden Ratio, depicting the Fibonacci sequence with ten alternating stripes of increasing size. It is a storytelling medium bound only by the limits of our imagination, giving it infinite possibilities. Although it was released during the Great Depression, the Blackwing was as much a premium pencil then as it is now. The original Blackwing Pearl has a fittingly pearlescent white finish with a gold ferrule and white eraser.
