Even more unfortunately, there is A LOT of male nudity in this movie, which is going to turn off most men. The situations that various characters find themselves in generally are funny - with the scenes that sees Levonna get her wig and Spanish phrase book, and a sequence taking place in a dentist's surgery being the highlights of the film. If I’m remembering correctly, someone in the Meyer biography said that Janice Cowart thinks Meyer’s films are sleazy and sees no value in them. It’s ironic and frankly downright sad that Meyer’s estate is now run by a shady woman he (reportedly) didn’t like and who clearly couldn’t give a shit less about his films and legacy.

This movie was not the best recived Meyers movie at the time of release however its safe to say that it has now gained cult status and if you are new to Meyers films I would recommend this movie along with Supervixens!Over 40 years had passed since Russ shot scenes there, but the place was unchanged, and still a medical and dental center. Suddenly she takes her robe off, sits down on him and rapes him, all the while preaching to her listeners about his salvation. The style of the film seems to be a parody of the American "apple pie" theme and the story is told by a narrator, who seems to be taking on the role of the "all American workman", the twist being that he's always talking about perversion.

The pseudo documentary style of this production does require a bit of initial thought and while there is a degree of humour it is more of a sly grin than side splitting laughter. Beneath the Valley is one of Meyer's better known works, largely due to its broader distribution, over-indulgence of feminine beauty and crass humor.When seeing Lamar still has his pants down, the doctor tries to rape him, but Lamar hides in the closet. Levonna becomes frustrated, so she does what any woman would do - gets herself a wig, learns Spanish and pretends to be a Mexican dancer to try and change Lamar's sex preferences. In my opinion, Meyer is at his best when he's mixing comedy porn with a thriller plot structure - with Faster Pussycat!
