About this deal

In fact, as it’s often been pointed out, if Aramis 900 hadn’t been marketed for men, it would have worked just as well as a woman’s scent – a good example of the obvious but too rarely grasped fact that in itself perfume has no gender. It is considered an ideal fragrance for the contemporary traditional man because it is designed to give off a timeless, classic aroma. The opening really smells like you're gently crushing the soft, powdery petals of a luscious young rose between your fingers. Although I am almost sure it has been neutered through reformulations like all classic fragrances, it is still resembling better times. I’d imagine a gentleman OR lady wearing this as they’re waiting in a beautiful lobby of a 5star hotel, cigarette smoke swirling around you, the scent echos the glimmering kiss of the diamonds and fine jewelry both are surly wearing.

Well after about 30 minutes, Aramis 900 calmed down to the beauty I remembered from the past and remained with me for the entire day…. It's just for spraying something on after taking a shower and before going to sleep or something in a similar vein. Also the much quoted toilet block and household cleaner association simply didn't get rid of me with some test candidates. This review is for the current formulation of Aramis 900 which, to my nose, is a powerful blend of herbal, mossy, soapy and floral notes. This due to the fact that many perfumes produced nowadays have little or nothing in common with the original formulas. I think that when I've smelled this in public on a woman I thought it was A900 but I have a feeling it was AE instead. Aramis 900 is much more in the vein of Paloma Picasso, Knowing, Coty Chypre, or even Magie Noire than Aromatics Elixir to my nose.

com perfumes magazine - All Rights Reserved - do not copy anything without prior written permission. Wealthy men who eat in costly restaurants and roam in suits no matter what season or occasion, wear this stuff. Top notes are coriander, green notes, bergamot, brazilian rosewood and lemon middle notes are carnation, orris root, jasmine, lily-of-the-valley, rose and geranium. They're completely undiluted and of the highest possible concentration to give the utmost longevity - one 10ml bottle can last at least a couple of months. The names used are only as a reference to the fragrance and we are in no way affiliated or connected with these brands. Both fragrances can be worn by those who, like me, love chypre and especially the quality that has disappeared in today's fragrances. Yes there's definitely Rose, but to my nose what comes through more strongly are some bitter, green notes possibly Geranium a sour flash of lemon and a big dose of Lily of the valley. I've sampled older versions of all of them, and save for Devin, they are nearly indistinguishable, and even with the Devin, it's a completely solid and wearable effort. If you have any questions, or are concerned about potential allergens or other ingredients, message the seller. This one can't be worn by anyone born in the 1970s or later, but it still suits men who were in their 30s back then.

The all-men’s brand was launched in 1964 by Estée Lauder and her husband Joseph, with the eponymous Aramis (which I’ve reviewed here) as the first fragrance in the range. I'm looking at the longevity and sillage review graphs for Aramis 900 and wondering if they are for an older formulation? Aramis 900 trades the meadow-earthy chamomile of Aromatics Elixir, with the aldehydes mellowed, a brighter green-spicy coriander and the rose pushed more forward, reminding me a bit more of Jean Couturier Coriandre than AE in its top notes. Certainly, there is a reason why this perfume has been considered important in the history of perfumery .

I noticed that quite a few reviewers mentioned that it smells like Cliniques Aromatics, I can see why. Patchouli, oakmoss and vetiver are the base notes of the fragrance, which settles on the skin as a refined and elegant rose chypre.
