About this deal

Aside from Paddington, Bond also created two other series: Olga da Polga (kicking off with 1973’s The Tales Olga da Polga) and Monsieur Pamplemousse, a culinary mystery series for adults. Kuvitus on ihana ja marsun elämän käänteitähän tässä käsitellään Olga da Polga -nimisen elikon näkökulmasta.

But even though she has lots to do, she still finds time to entertain her friends with her tall tales and amazing stories. When I was a kid, I enjoyed all the Paddington chapter books and this tale by the same author caused me to feel the same sort of comfort I enjoyed when reading about a bear who came to live with a family. Sure, she was also interesting to read about, to see her live her life, to see her talk about the changing of seasons, to see her views on her home, to see her make friends with even the unlikeliest animals (cats).

He was the creator of Paddington Bear and wrote about the adventures of a guinea pig named Olga da Polga, as well as the animated BBC TV series The Herbs. The real life Karen also features in the book as the character Karen Sawdust, who understands Olga da Polga better than her parents do, kind though they are. Registered office address: Unit 34 Vulcan House Business Centre, Vulcan Road, Leicester, Leicestershire, LE5 3EF.

But the best bits are where she holds the other animals in awe as they gather around and listen to her tall tales. Bond's books were memorably illustrated by Danish artist Hans Helweg, who was also well known for his "pulp fiction" covers for Pan paperbacks. Olga and Boris become friends and Olga discovers that Boris can tell even taller tales than she can.

The sale of customised goods or perishable goods, sealed audio or video recordings, or software, which has been opened. She gives out advice to the other animals in the garden, takes part in a sponsored squeak, and even goes jogging! The Tales of Olga da Polga is an utterly charming children's book from 1971 by Michael Bond, an award-winning author more famous for his stories about Paddington Bear, who first made his appearance in 1958.

It would be a lovely and enjoyable read for a child who is about to become the owner of a guinea pig, as well as those who are already enthusiastic about animals. Her home is now a large and airy hutch and it's not long before she meets Noel the cat, Fangio the hedgehog, and Graham the tortoise. Although they are not always sure whether to believe everything Olga says, one thing is certain-since Olga moved in, life is never dull! Written by the beloved Michael Bond, with wonderful illustrations by Catherine Rayner, this is a gift edition for young readers to treasure. I liked that we got to see two sides of her personality, her adventurous side, and her more vulnerable side. The character of Olga da Polga is herself based on a guinea pig belonging to Michael Bond's daughter Karen. From the start it is clear that the stories comprise not only fantasy, but also accurate observation about how guinea pigs behave, and are cared for. She has her own box in the corner of the dining room where she spends her days watching the comings and goings in the house.
