Parenting recently described Sendak as “indisputably, the most revolutionary force in children's books. After she graduated from Queens College, City University of New York she became a journalist for the Rome Daily Centennial newspaper and taught first-graders during WWII.

In his lifetime, he illustrated over 80 books, and received many awards, including the 1964 Caldecott Medal for Where the Wild Things Are .

It reminds me of big bear, being persistent, creative and patient with little bear are important attributes for parents. The language is simple and the stories short, but the book is still engaging enough for parents to read aloud, and both my son and my 3. While working on his thesis he got a 'temporary job' in Exeter's Central Library and somehow found himself working there for more than ten years. our little hero repeatedly brings his sartorial troubles to Mother Bear, confident in her ability to solve the problem, only to learn eventually that he had what he needed all along.For example we have two toy bears that we introduce to them at the beginning of the story who they get to cuddle and get a sense of their two sizes (bigger for big bear etc…), we then give them each a small teddy bear who they cuddle up in a blanket. I have been a fan of the show Little Bear my entire life, and my son has inherited the love for it as well. It felt a bit like the author wrote a book leveraging animals with the hope that using animals would carry the book. Fun and games all day long for the family and the boy until the skies grow dark and the silver stars shine.

He's quite advanced for his age and so are his choices of books but found this oddly captivating lool. Little Bear quite likes being small but he doesn’t like to be thought of as a baby, even when it is part of a game.
