If you have never seen any of the info presented in the old (1st edition) Chaos books then this book is for you. Like, the cruelty and horror is that Joe is torn away from his loving spouse, given a rifle and maybe a flak vest, and thrown into the meatgrinder for a battle that's probably not even needed.He gains visions of the Warhammer 40,000 universe in probably the most explicit Warhammer Fantasy/40k crossover ever made (arguably after that one time a Genestealer played Blood Bowl). This might be surprising to some, but the trouble with madness is that it can be very hard to follow. It might even be one of those cases where a throw-away single line buried deep in it is the only offender and it can be changed easily. The warriors of Khorne and their armaments get more interesting, but it isn't until the daemons are reached that the treatment peaks for me.
