This recipe book contains lots of recipes along with many suggestions on how to vary a recipe, useful for cooks that are not that confident with ingredients.

The recipe itself was really easy to follow and the results were fabulous as you can see from the photos. To make gravy, skim the fat from the roasting juices into a bowl, strain through a sieve and set aside. However the edition that arrived was not the same as pictured therefore unsuitable for our collection.This copy is for our daughter who is a working mother who likes to savour the food that she cooks for herself, her husband (who is very particular) and her young family. The book is easy to follow and the recipies are great with conventional cooking styles and microwave alternative on most recipes.

My only previous cooking experience had been basic cookery classes at school and had never cooked a meal at home. In homage to those halcyon days, I am going to do my best to persuade my train loving, baking-reluctant little boy to make some of these cute little sweets with me at the weekend. Although I now have a wide range of other cookery books, I frequently go back to use these basic recipes for everyday use. Using a fork or potato masher, mash the bananas thoroughly, then fold them into the creamed mixture with the milk. If you're a person self taught in life and in cooking, you need this book to teach you the foundation of cooking; it takes you from the very basics to festive recipes. It is also completely indispensable when it comes to British pies, roasts, biscuits, and most other traditional staples.
