About this deal

On top of that its slim 120mm fan is no more audible than the 90mm fan used with the NH-L9i something which I expect will matter quite a bit for people who are looking to equip their HTPC system with a new CPU cooler. Its heatpipes are gently sloped backwards so that the radiator is not d directly above the baseplate; but slightly offset. The included 15 mm slim fan was inaudible at idle, and while it did generate over 40 dBA under load at ~1800 RPM it managed to keep a Core i7-7700K cooler than some tower designs are capable of.

Now obviously where its footprint has to be 120mm (its actually 122mm thanks to metal fascia covering) this would pose a major installation problem – as no mobo has that much clearance area around the CPU socket and RAM!GaK_45's combination of multiple industry certifications(MCSE, CCNA, various CompTIA, etc), and over twenty years' experience in the computer industry allows him to provide detailed analysis that is as trustworthy as it is practical. WCUK Online Ltd is authorized and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN 824034) and acts as a credit intermediary.

The new fan has an unchanged speed range (300-1800 rpm) and the lower, 17-millimeter profile has remained as well as the fluid (FDB) bearings. Compatibility of this cooler is more inclusive than a lot of others, where Intel is covered since LGA775 and continues through all of the sockets up till LGA2066. As above, they’re not particularly easy on the eye, but you should be able to tell (without too much difficult) exactly what you can expect from the Scythe Big Shuriken 3. However, in the pull setup, air wouldn’t get recycled, so ambient temperature ended up being a little lower. We would like to thank Scythe for providing us with a review sample of their Big Shuriken 3 heatsink.

A couple of things to note is that there isn’t any protective padding for the heatsink and there is a missing screw for mounting the slim Kaze Flex fan. began its operation and business since November, 2002 as a distributor and the manufacturer of passive and low-noise PC parts. The top of the cooler is covered with the 17mm Kaze fan with gray rubber corners, which is screwed to the black bracket with the Scythe logo. Using QuickCPU, while playing Valorant I hit no more than ~55C and games like RDR2, Cyberpunk, Control, I gets temps between 55-63C.

V. During all these tests, fans are set to run at 100% in the BIOS, with temperatures being recorded by AIDA64. In either case we have zero worries about how this copper core, nickel plated base will do at its job of moving heat quickly and effeceintly away from the CPU. Big Shuriken 3 has been completely re-designed with the goal to significantly improve the compatibility. You see this thin fascia is not just there for finishing looks but instead the fan mounts to it and as it is screwed the fin array… nothing is going anywhere unless you want it to. As we look down through the fins from the top, we see that the nine-bladed, Scythe Kaze 120 Slim PWM fan covers the fins well, and we also can see the gap at the top, where the fan adds more cooling to the pipes, even before the heat enters the fins. If more performance is required and enough headroom for extra height is available, users are able to equip the Big Shuriken 3 with a regular aftermarket 120 mm case fan with 25 mm height.

In fact, the fan comes pre-attached to the Big Shuriken 3 and is one less thing you will have to worry about after purchasing this bad boy. For the cases, where more performance is required and enough headroom for extra height is available, users are able to equip the Big Shuriken 3 with a regular aftermarket 120 mm case fan with 25 mm thickness. The Big Shuriken 3 is a relatively dense heatsink and it’s paired with a higher RPM fan, so more noise is expected. After building new desktops and barely making headway installing other heatsinks, I found this item to be the easiest ever to install. Users have the option to replace the pre-installed fan by using a supplied dedicated screw-set with a regular aftermarket fan of 25 mm height, if needed. To improve memory compatibility, the Shuriken 3 has a cut out for memory along with an offset, which should keep it clear of other components. With increased cooling performance, quieter noise levels and greater compatibility, the Big Shuriken 3 is the ideal CPU cooler where space is at a premium. This looks nice and fits well in a small form factor pc but the weak fan is no good, my 3600 would reach idle temp of 70v- 80c and 90c 0 110c under load which i was shocked to see. For the weight of this aluminum and copper-based assembly of parts, we have to go to the bottom of the chart, but the 475-gram weight is shown.
