These are used by schools to support teachers who are moving year groups, to raise and set expectations and to support standardisation, assessment and moderation procedures in school. In terms of day to day teaching, the routines are quickly and easily established and children respond incredibly well to the structure and familiarity of the programme. We're very sad to say that, as of the 15th of January 2023, Raintree will no longer be selling No Nonsense Literacy and that all subscriptions have been transferred to Devon County Council (formerly Babcock Learning and Development Partnership, the Devon English team and author of the resource). There are many reading, writing, spelling and talking routines to revisit, practise, apply, extend, discuss, illustrate, embed and assess the knowledge and understanding of new alphabetic code, vocabulary, concepts and spelling word banks. Each box includes: 3 teacher books (Key Stage 1, Lower Key Stage 2 and Upper Key Stage 2) - two copies of each; a copy of Babcock's unique Sentence Toolkit to help your students get to grips with the building blocks of grammar; a USB stick containing editable versions of all the activities and resources and video guidance from the lead author on how to use the programme in your school; 26 Raintree PDF eBooks for use as exemplar texts in your grammar teaching. This means that each Teacher Book needs to ‘stand alone’ as well as form part of a cohesive whole programme. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.Earlier texts tend to be more suitable for the beginning of the year while those towards the end of the lists are increasingly complex in either language or concepts, and therefore could be more appropriate towards the end of the year.
