About this deal

The 80PLUS Platinum efficiency rating and Zero RPM Fan Mode mean that at low to medium loads, the fan doesn’t spin at all. CORSAIR HX series power supplies give you extremely tight voltage regulation, quiet operation, Platinum-certified efficiency, and a fully modular cable set. Please allow 2 working days for a response as some item's enquiries with international suppliers may be required. Even this doesn't take much away from the unit due to the incredible performance which warrants a few extra pennies out of your pocket. A lot rests really on how it has been used - a cramped case with the system under heavy load for many hours a day I'd be wary, lighter use with only a few hours of gaming a day it will probably be OK for awhile yet.

Add in the seven year warranty and for many it was a no-brainer that this was the power supply to have for mid-range systems. There are a total of two ATX 4+4, six PCI-E, 12 SATA and 12 Molex connectors available with the inclusion of two adapters to go from Molex to FDD. Even when the fan isn't running the HX850 has specially selected components to reduce electronic noise for a near silent PSU. The HX series is the second top-of-the-line PSUs from Corsair that, previously, met only the 80 PLUS Silver certification. It uses a fluid dynamic bearing and has a low maximum speed, so even in worst-case scenarios it doesn't make much noise.

To utilize the second ATX 4+4 connector, you will have to give up one of your PCI-E connectors and possibly the ability to utilize triple GPU's. In the 'SINGLE' position, the full output capability of the power supply's +12V rail is available to any and all connectors, while in the 'MULTIPLE' position, each individual connector has Over-Current Protection so no more than 40A of current can be delivered on any given cable. You can toggle the rail modes using the switch on the PSU, In the SINGLE position, the full output capability of the power supply’s +12V rail is available to any and all connector, while on MULTIPLE each connector has Over-Current Protection so no more than 40A of current can be delivered to each cable.

GHz, NH D15, 32 GB DDR4 3200 GSKILL Trident Z RGB, AORUS Z390 MASTER, EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra, Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500GB, Samsung 860 EVO 1TB, Samsung 860 EVO 500GB, ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q 27", Steel Series APEX PRO, Logitech Gaming Pro Mouse, CM Master Case 5, Corsair AXI 1600W Titanium. Corsair are using Japanese capacitors on both the secondary and primary stages, which is good to see. The new HX850 PSU features a quiet operation at low loads/operating temperatures, since its thermally controlled fan only spins when it's needed.

Zero RPM Fan Mode: Since the fan doesn’t turn on until it’s needed, you’ll enjoy virtually silent operation at low and medium loads. The 8 pin cables for EPS 12V, ATX12V and PCIe have added capacitors to help reduce ripple noise via the cables. The APFC heatsink is thick but plain - essentially just a metallic slab with relatively little dissipation surface. The Corsair HX850 is a simple looking, yet effective monochome power supply which will cleverly fit into any colour scheme of build you can think of.
