here’s the very scientific answer: when this type of paramagnetic rock which has absorbing and retaining qualities is immersed in water, the para-magnetism creates a magnetic field within the water causing a change in the ion exchange, attracting the nitrates into the rocks itself; it is acting like a filter which is why after approx.
