Shadows are more gray looking overall and they’re also a bit crushed, lacking the truly deep blacks and bold highlights of the other 4K presentations. For some, Dawn of the Dead 2004 is one of their favorites, but for others, it’s a mildly entertaining facsimile of a full-blown masterpiece.

The documentary might be a little technical for some in its first half, but it moves quickly enough to prevent it from feeling dry. The color palette is better represented with deeper reds, greens, and blues, which suffered a bit on Scream Factory’s previous Blu-ray. He’s got a lot of praise for Zack Snyder and a good group of people, with many “play”-like sequences. I just watched the theatrical cut all the way through and caught glimpses of the others while I listened to their commentaries.
