Klauth, Unrivaled Ancient is a hulking beast that cashes in on the total power of your creatures in combat. Interestingly, the counter doubling trigger occurs when combat damage is dealt, and the trigger depends on the amount of damage dealt.

I could see adding it into the 99 of Karazikar, the Eye Tyrant; Kardur, Doomscourge; and Thantis, the Warweaver too. The only theoretical way I could guarantee doubling the counters on each hit is if you have a trampling attacker that can and must be blocked by only one creature and you cast Terrifying Presence targeting the blocker. Assemble a party, choose your commander, and try out Magic: The Gathering’s most popular format with a ready-to-play deck. If a creature like Master of Cruelties would assign no combat damage, which is different than preventing it, it still won't work because it's treated as if there was no combat damage at all, similar to attacking with a 0-power creature. That’s already a pretty powerful ability, but it also gives all of your nontoken Creatures riot, which means they enter the battlefield with either haste or a +1/+1 counter on them.

For dice-rolling synergies – such as Vrondiss – there are plenty of new cards to choose from: Neverwinter Hydra, Berserker’s Frenzy, Maddening Hex, Wild Endeavor, Reckless Endeavor, Bag of Tricks, Component Pouch, and Underdark Rift.

I also thought since some of the enrage enablers in the deck may kill my commander or some other big nasty I didn’t want dead, I had to build in ways to recur them, so I added Serpent Skin, Jolrael’s Favor (both of which can be played at instant speed) and Fortitude to help keep whichever creature I needed most at the time on the board. A traditional foil Storvald, Frost Giant Jarl can be found in the Aura of Courage deck alongside a nonfoil Catti-Brie of Mithral Hall—brilliant archer and member of the famous adventuring group, the Companions of the Hall. Lastly, make note that neither Vrondiss nor their tokens have evasion, so I’d probably find room for ways to give all creatures trample.Four adventurers have set out to make a name for themselves on the Sword Coast—the warlock Prosper, the paladin Galea, the barbarian Vrondiss, and the wizard Sefris. Its high damage output and explosive haste enablers means winning is never truly out of the deck’s grasp until its life total hits zero, so learning its strengths and weaknesses will make it even more unstoppable on the battlefield.
