About this deal

Though these moments were incredible, they were connected by painfully dull and repetitive stretches. Two years have passed since the end of The Bone Shard Emperor, and it did take me some time to adjust to this time skip decision. They will never follow you for who you are, only for what they think you might do for them and only out of fear. I compared Nisong's arc to Dolores's from Westworld in previous books because they really mirror each other in a lot of ways, the biggest being that there is a powerful man behind their suffering and when they "woke up" they decided to raise hell.

How do you build a story around these concepts and develop them further to make sense in a scope of this world and not just bunch of cool things thrown together? Fans von tierischen Begleitern kommen hier wieder voll auf ihre Kosten ❤ Auch war der Band trotz der stolzen 700 Seiten relativ schnell durchgelesen.

Now, I binged this trilogy, and based on how much I loved the first two books, I knew I’d love this one too. It has been a while since I read the first two books so it seems as if there are a lot more POV characters in the 3rd book probably with the aim of tieing all the plot points to bring together the finale, but not enough Jovis and Mephi for me. I’d love to meet some of the Alanga of old, Dione before he lost faith in humans, the first tithing festival, and of course the Ossalen. So when she finally decided to let Nisong go, when she stopped to evaluate why she was trying to be Nisong and what that actually meant and that she didn’t need to be that person, I was so happy for her.

There was a great potential there, some of it reflected in her intriguing relationship with Lin's father, and I just felt that wrapping her arc the way it did was a missed opportunity. With the character's journey and background throughout the trilogy, Stewart tackles other themes such as hope, privilege, and the harshness of social status. We’re a collaborative review site run by volunteers who love Fantasy, Sci-fi, Horror, and everything in-between.Set two years after the last book, Lin is dangerously short of allies, Jovis’s disappearance weighing on her heavily. To the reader, he feels in near reach with his vulnerability laid bare and his grappling with morality. If the first trilogy by Andrea Stewart is already this well-polished, I think the potential for her next series to be superior is massive, and I am excited to find out. The characters developed and grew and all were left in a place that felt right, where they should be and tied things up in a natural way. However, I do love the way Stewart connected everything to nature and that they would, in a way, still live on forever.
