I can see this as a versatile and a very safe scent. But definitely not safe in the boring way :) I've yet to wear it in warmer weathers but I think a light application would work, but I'll be wearing other scents over this around that time of year. This has it's place, it's subtle, certainly not a bad smell and certainly not entry level but I feel that considering all the notes it claims, more should be happening. I feel this is true of most EDT's you can buy at the drug store or Sephora, which is why I usually don't. what sets this apart is I guess the cashmere wood mixing very well with the amber to give off this intoxicating scent.the woody scent here is reminiscent of ones you get in comme des garcons fragrance and am thinking 2 Man here which am told is a rip off of GPH. A nice blend from top to bottom of sweetness and woods, this fragrance finally breaks away from the overdone aquatics and sports fragrances pushed onto the average consumer from the retail counter. This scent is as unique as it is versatile, posing no challenge for wear at work or for a night out. You might also find its linearity a plus or a minus. This almost feels more like an accord than an actual fleshed-out scent to me. It smells like listening to music with a low pass filter, like all the brightness and higher pitched sounds are muffled out with warm fleece blankets, or like listening to drums with earplugs in; you feel the sound more than you hear it. All the sharp edges of the notes in here are completely smoothed over. There's a puff of cinnamon but its definitely not the spicy red hots variety; This cinnamon has been gently steeped in a glass of warm milk. Theres the faintest little snippet of patchouli, but its the friendliest and absolute most agreeable iteration possible and its used so subtly that you could completely miss it if you weren't looking. Ultimately the cashmere wood seems to be the predominant player here, and it's beige-y fuzziness dominates 99% of the wear time. Love at first smell, which happens to me very rarely, really. Last time was more than a year ago, with Epic by Amouage. Go figure.

Scentwise: very unique; a quite resinous amber (not too sweet as that one from the vanilla side is), just a touch of musk (not animalic at all) and quite enough cinnamon (not that kind which almost makes your nostrils hurt, but quite a sweet one) making it a great oriental fragrance. It is true that this doesn't project like a beast or last that long I'd say it lasted about 4-5hours, but it's perfect for an evening event, especially suit and tie. Potion is available as 30, 50 and 100 Eau de Parfum with the extension line (“the quintessence of the fragrance”) of aftershave lotion spray, hair and body wash, body lotion, natural spray and alcohol free deodorant and perfume oil. The scent is of floral, oriental and chypre character, signed by Christine Nagel. The recipe is as follows:Potion is a strong mix of cinnamon, cashmere wood and amber in the opening. This woody spicy salvo is so great and comes off almost a bit boozy. This rich opening is then given a bit of freshness from a dose of mint and angelica and this really plays up the cashmere wood, the evolution of these notes really gives this scent a much needed complexity, and save this scent from becoming something too linear. Some pepper and musk appear and give this scent a masculine punch, the patchouli and florals form a nice earthy, sweet transition to the clean, sweet base of this scent.
