About this deal

Kaltain: is apparently terrible. Celaena hates her at first meeting, because Celaena, "hates women like that. They're so desperate for the attention of men that they would willingly betray and harm members of their own sex. And we claim men cannot think with their brains. At least men are direct about it." Aside from putting the blame for societal conditioning on the woman you are critiquing, and instead of asking how that could have happened (at one point Celaena's companion goes 'I pity [Kaltain's] servants' and Celaena says, 'I pity her father.'), the book sees no irony in Celaena saying this directly to a man. About another woman. Who she has met once. For two minutes. In a society structured oh-so-originally after medieval-ish western europe. Where we are explicitly told that the only upward mobility possible for women is by marrying high ranked men. In the second book Celaena, while working to free and/or not assassinate numerous nobles that the evil emperor/king wants assassinated, runs into Kaltain in prison, where we are helpfully informed that she is raped regularly. Celaena, being the kind-hearted woman with strength of character attested to by all the characters in the book, gives her a cloak and leaves. Also Kaltain smokes an opium pipe to get rid of her headaches, which is of course terrible. Look, book, if I thought smoking an opium pipe would help with my headaches and migraines you bet I would do it in a hot second. Don't you judge her.

Although these are a prequel to Throne of Glass I have actually read them after reading the first three main books of the series (Throne of Glass, Crown of Midnight and Heir of Fire) and I think that because of this I have enjoyed them so much more than some of the other reviewers. I would actually suggest reading these prequel novellas after reading Throne of Glass as then the character Celeana Sardothien will be much more lovable as I think if reading these novellas without knowing her character she may come across as a bit annoying and full or herself. I have been a fan of the series since reading Throne of Glass and I absolutely adore the characters in the series but most of all Celeana herself and I can't recommend the whole series enough. Well, I care what you think of me. I care enough that I stayed at this disgusting party just for you. And I care enough that I’d attend a thousand more like it so I can spend a few hours with you when you aren’t looking at me like I’m not worth the dirt beneath your shoes.” Throne of Glass isn't just about the competition that Cealena is in, there is so much going on throughout the entire novel! It is so full of action and from one second to the next I never knew what was going to happen! I absolutely loved it! Celaena Sardothien, Adarlan's Assassin - feared, fierce, lethal. Everyone in Erilea knows her name, a name synonymous with death. But then betrayed, caught, tried, convicted, Celaena is sentenced to a lifetime in the unforgiving salt mines of Endovier as punishment for her many crimes. In an ironic twist of fate, she's offered the chance to compete to become the Champion of the very king who condemned her; in doing so, earning her freedom... and possibly becoming Erilea's best hope against the dark forces that would seek to destroy it. In The Assassin and The Healer, Celeana has been sent to train with the Silent Assassins in The Red Desert by Arobynn Hamel, King of the Assassins as punishment for her part in freeing the slaves during the first novella; The Assassin and The Pirate Lord. She is in a small town called Innish which is just across the Gulf of Oro whilst waiting for the boat that will take her over to Xandria and then from there she will make her way across the desert to train with the Silent Assassins. Whilst in Innish she is staying in The White Pig Inn and it is here that those who haven't read Throne of Glass will start to see the kind person in Celeana beneath the cold assassin persona. The local serving girl Yrene has fled her from her home town when her Mother the town's healer was murdered by the kings men and it is here that Celeana and Yrene meet under difficult circumstances and we see what a heart of gold Celeana truly has.

This will let you keep Chaol’s story cohesively together, as well as make sure you aren’t begrudging the cliffhanger at the end of Empire of Storms.

When I first meet Sam in The Assassin and The Pirate Lord I wasn’t a fan of him. I felt like he was a snake in the grass waiting to strike. I did have a feeling that he did like Celaena but I thought he wanted power more. But as the book went on my feelings towards him changed. But then this book changed my opinion of him completely. He really does care for her and as it shows she does care about him as well. It’s young love, it’s sweet, innocent and beautiful.

Sơn Tinh là hiện thân của vị thần nào trong ‘Tứ bất tử’?

If you’ve read even just the first few chapters of Throne of Glass, then you already know what is going to happen in this story… I would like to say that you’ll be ready for it… but I won’t lie. You won’t be. This story has everything in it. The emotions, the fighting, the betrayal, the answers about what really happened to Sam that terrible evening, Even the villains were perfect! Kane, Princess Kaltain and The King were so unlikable and despicable and I loved to hate them!

Besides . . . Don't you want to see Celaena fumble her way through her first friendship? And not just her first friendship, but her first friendship with a GIRL?

10 kỹ thuật cơ bản giúp xây dựng cốt truyện hay

She says she knew she wanted to be a writer when she was 11 or 12 years old. It was at this age that she read fantasy for the first time. There are five novellas in this book an every single story is so carefully woven that you can’t help but have to get lost in it! I enjoyed them immensely and even though the first two stories weren’t all that exceptional they still contributed to the overall plot! ;-)
