About this deal

I will have no need to purchase any dedicated R lenses for some time as the current Canon lenses I currently own will work well. Nikon designed their electronic lens mount with enough variations so that not all electronic DSLR bodies can use all their electronic lenses, including the new Z bodies.

It if fairly clear what Nikon is saying by not putting a AF motor in Z bodies and not having an adapter with an AF motor.

We've been using a full production version of this 120 fps sports camera, to see what you gain (and, perhaps, lose). Did it cost more, possibly, but there were many consumer EF USM lenes (non L professional) out by the very early 1990s, so you can't say cost was that big of an issue.

Nikon managed to deliver constantly very high AF performance and optical quality on the F mount while maintaining excellent compatibility. This focusing system also supports working in low-light conditions with a Starlight mode that permits focusing down to -8. Why in 2021 does Nikon produce new cameras with an AF drive shaft sticking out of the lens mount and Canon does not? All VR lenses are either traditional screw-type AF or AF-S, in which column you'll see how the other features work. it's also a high-resolution chip that benefits landscape, portraiture, and other detail-oriented genres, as well as enables recording video at resolutions up to 8K.

Because there is no comounication to manual lenses there is no benefit to using Nikon manual lenses; LEICA or any other manual lens will work the same, and likewise, you may as use your Nikon manaual lenses adapted to Sony or Canon or anything else; they will work the same.

they slow things down, make focus slower, consum more energy and sometimes put another layer of glass, lowing light and general quality.F-mount lenses retain all of their superb image quality with no loss of brightness, contrast or speed.

The Mount Adapter FTZ II is the bridge between legendary NIKKOR glass and Z series mirrorless cameras, now with a streamlined design. My old Peak Design plate didn't work at all (the new ones that allow you to mount the plate off center fixed the issue. Enabling the use of nearly any Nikon F-mount lens on Z-mount mirrorless camera bodies, the FTZ Mount Adapter is a sophisticated means for expanding the range of usable lenses. Nikon tried for compatibility and muddled everything with in body AF motors, but they are now going all electronic. So if your only proof that their design strategy was crap is that a single piece of 2021 gear doesn't have a tiny motor in it kind of proves that there is very little wrong with their mount.Using full pixel readout, UHD 8K 30p video can be recorded with continuous shooting possible for approximately 2 hours 5 minutes. If Nikon had a clear electronic mount strategy like Canon's EF mount, the adapter discussed in this article would be 100% compatible with every Nikon electronic lens and even the old manual lenses. Many of those 270 lenses that don't have AF, AE and VR support on the FTZ DON'T HAVE AF, AE and VR regardless. If they had a clear strategy for their electronic mount, they would have 100% compatibility right now, but they don't.
