About this deal

As befits the most powerful Necron ruler, the Silent King also has the ability to change your army’s command protocol at will. In addition, if all units from your army are from the same dynasty (excluding DYNASTIC AGENT, C’TAN SHARD and UNALIGNED units), select one command protocol that has not been assigned to a battle round (there will typically only be one). That command protocol is active in every battle round in addition to the one assigned to that battle round – select which directive your units will benefit from at the start of each battle round. Note that if this additional command protocol is the one described in your dynasty’s code, this means both of its directives apply to all units with this ability in your army in every battle round, in addition to the protocol assigned to that battle round. The available command protocols are shown below.

He also comes with a range of rules and abilities that would fill up the inside of a monolith if you were to write them out in ancient Necron glyphs. Armed with the Sceptre of Eternal Glory, the Silent King can dominate both the shooting and combat phases. Out: Trazyn the Infinite , Convergence of Dominion , Necron Overlord , Gilded Lotus , Shard of the Nightbringer , Lychguard Chronomancer ( Orikan the Diviner) • Plasmancer • Psychomancer • Technomancer ( Illuminor Szeras) • Apprentek For millions of years, the Silent King traveled in the void between galaxies. He was the only Necron to completely remember his past and time as an organic lifeform, suffering the memories of what he had done to his race. The aeons of grief would have destroyed the minds of any lesser lifeform. However he still had a plan, and sought to redeem himself by achieving it on behalf of his people. Szarekh sought to have his people slumber until such a time when the enemies of the Necrons such as the Eldar were overcome by internal discord and the ravages of time. Using their immortal bodies and radical weaponry, the Necrons would then lead his people to dominate the galaxy. In the meantime, Szarekh's exile in the void would achieve other ends knowable only to him, though some speculate it was to find a way to reverse Biotransference. [9]Yet even with the defeat of the Old Ones and the C'tan alike, the Silent King saw that the time of the Necrons was over -- for the moment, at least. The mantle of galactic dominion would soon pass to the Aeldari, a species who had fought alongside the Old Ones throughout the War in Heaven and had thus come to hate the Necrons and all their works. In 744. M41, the Silent King ended his self-imposed exile and returned to the galaxy after encounter with the Tyranids within the intergalactic void. He discovered the Tyranids were just one of many threats facing the Necrons. Other alien races had swarmed over their Tomb Worlds and the Warp now seeped across the Galaxy. [4] He has begun a journey across the galaxy with a band of his loyal Triarch Praetorians to reawaken Tomb Worlds that still slumber so they may unite against the Tyranids. [1c] The returned Silent King was at first careful to not reveal his true identity, even to fellow Necrons. He worked primarily through Triarch Praetorians or unwitting Crypteks and Necron Overlords to achieve his goal, and has steadily influenced the galaxy from one side to the other. Slowly, he has pursued his great work from the shadows. [3] He intends to unite the Necrons against the Tyranids while also manipulating the younger races to his own schemes. [4] Szarekh has claimed that he has encountered Sanguinius, who may have been on the verge of establishing an alliance with the Necrons. [10] The two menhirs serve to add even more presence and power to the model. When placed on either side of the throne room, they form a pyramid-like silhouette, reminiscent of a Monolith. In that moment, he knew with cold certainty that the price of physical immortality had been the loss of his soul. With great sorrow the Silent King beheld the fate he had brought upon his people: the Necrontyr were now but a memory, and the soulless Necrons reborn in their place. Yet if the price had been steep, biotransference had fulfilled all of the promises that the C'tan had made. Even the lowliest of Necrontyr was blessed with immortality -- age and radiation could little erode their new bodies, and only the most terrible of injuries could destroy them utterly. Millions of years ago while the Necrons were still a mortal species called the Necrontyr they held sway over a massive galaxy spanning empire that despite their overwhelming power and advanced technologies suffered from infighting and an obsession with death. While officially under the ultimate control of the Silent King, the leader of the triarch that was supposed to impose their will upon the empire and direct it to a common purpose, the empire was slipping away as each overlord wanted their own piece of the galactic pie. The empire was able to reunite in the classic way, by rallying the warring factions to fight against a common foe. To this end Necrontyr sought to pillage the secrets of the the Old Ones, a even older race that had long since achieved immortality and were the creators of the enigmatic webway. While the war served its purpose in uniting the previously warring lords, it turns out fighting a enemy with immortality and advanced tech is pretty hard and the Necrontyr were doomed to fail.

Unlimited Power

Necron memories regarding the Szarekhan Dynasty are unclear and inconsistent, and even individuals such as Orikan the Diviner have difficulty discovering the past of the Dynasty. Even to the Necrons themselves, when the Szarekhan Dynasty formed and how long they have been awake is inconsistent. Disturbingly, no Necron seems able to concentrate on the topic long enough to discover an answer. [8c] Known Engagements Warriors • Immortals ( Despotek • Guardian) • Pariahs • Deathmarks • Lychguards • Triarch Praetorians • Flayed Ones • Cryptothrall Szarekh is not the model for beginners but for those hardened veterans who wish to take their fights to the next level he will allow you to do so. He exceeds the regular point cost of models in the 40k universe and this is reflected in his huge scale making him become the centre points of the battles he partakes in. Bringing him to the fight feels right having a towering king dominating the battle he fights in and his playstyle reflects this with many special rules and powers that makes him challenging and fun to use to slay your enemies. Not Truly A Silent King

Yet desire and ambition swiftly overrode caution, and Orikan's prophecy was dismissed. A Terran year after the Deceiver had presented his proposition, the Triarch agreed to the alliance, and so forever doomed their species. Name: Szarekh, The Silent King, Last of the Silent Kings, Shatterer of the Star Gods, Defeater of the Old Ones, Bringer of Unity, Master of the Final Triarch, Wielder of the Sceptre of Eternal Glory Annihilation Barge • Catacomb Command Barge • Doomsday Ark • Ghost Ark • Tesseract Ark • Tomb Blade • Monolith ( Doomsday Monolith) • Megalith • Obelisk • Tesseract Vault • Dias of Dominion and Triarchal Menhirs • Triarch Stalker Szarekh was born into the Szarekhan Dynasty, which at the time tended to have its members appointed as the Silent King. [4] At the time of his rule, the Necrontyr empire was already engaged in a vicious struggle against the Old Ones. In desperation, Szarekh agreed to form an alliance with the C'tan and transfer the Necrontyr into new bodies of living metal, becoming the Necrons. He was convinced into the agreement by The Deceiver and ignored the advice of his court adviser, Orikan. [4] However while they now lived immortal lives and were finally able to emerge victorious in the War in Heaven, Szarekh realised that his people had become soulless pawns of the C'tan and, before the war even ended, was determined to exact vengeance against the star gods. [1a] During biostransference Szarekh was imbued with the command matrices able to control the entire Necron race. [4]
