Basically it's a small Winflash type program that will rewrite the radios operating system to the radio's EPROM - removing any corruption and starting the radio from afresh. It takes about 5 mins to complete. Of the 57 products, we discovered that 8 were more expensive and 48 were cheaper than Pure Evoke H3 DAB Radio. Prices from Pure Pure support have been useless. They first of all suggested I do a reset even though I'd explained that I can't get the thing to even turn on. The next step for us was to look at all of the products that fall within the Radios category, of which we found 57 products at Argos. So we pulled together all of the prices of these products to analyse the average prices as well as finding the cheapest and most expensive options. mach99:I get the distinct impression that some digital signal has been sent out which trashes the 'older generation' of Evoke 3's.
At first, the output is a little underwhelming. There’s more warmth than you might expect from a small plastic radio, but not much clarity or definition. Give it a few minutes, though, and the sound opens up. While the quality is still a bit boxy and congested, with a muddy low-end, it’s both very listenable and easily tunable through preset and custom EQs. With four AA batteries, you’re only looking at around eight hours of use, but this is a great radio for the money, all the same.
