About this deal

Ideally, start planning as soon as possible. Hotels, Park Passes, and other reservations fill up fast, especially during crowded times. I like to start planning about a year ahead, but we definitely recommend planning at least 9 months ahead. The next tier up is the Moderate Resorts and these are some of my favorites! The moderate resorts at Walt Disney World Resort provide some of the best options for the price. Plus the blend of affordability and amenities make Moderate Resorts a great options for most families. Then there’s the colossal EPCOT overhaul, which will wrap up later this year with the debut of the new Luminous: The Symphony of Us nighttime spectacular and (maybe) CommuniCore Hall. Oh, and a bunch of trees. ( Stop the presses!) More than anything else, it’ll be nice to have EPCOT no longer be a maze of construction walls. The front of the park has been unpleasant the last few years. Be prepared with a stroller. Whether you are bringing your own, renting one at the park, or renting one from an outside company (this is our favorite method, especially if you are flying to Disney), be prepared with the right stroller. If you are bringing your own, know that Disney World has specific guidelines about stroller size. And if you opt for the Genie+, you'll be able to choose the next available arrival timeto some attractions and skip long lines with the Lightning Lane. BVWK Tip: Book Disney Genie + Experiences In the Morning

Disney is always brewing new ideas, and even this year (2022), they've announced some new attractions and entertainment that will make your visit even more magical. Character Meet & Greets — These are where you will wait in line to chat with and a photo with a character. Some of these are major park attractions (like Fairytale Hall in Magic Kingdom), while others are smaller lines in little corners of the park (like seeing Alice in the United Kingdom pavilion in Epcot). The My Disney Experience app will show you where and when you can see characters. These are just a few of many posts mentioned in this article that will provide the foundation for your planning…but these 4 other posts are probably the most important of the bunch! If you enjoyed this Walt Disney World Trip Planning Guide, please help us out by sharing it with your friends via social media. We put a lot of ongoing work into this, and hope it’s as helpful as possible to as many trip planners as possible. Thank you so much for your support–we really appreciate it! Your Thoughts

2. How Long to Visit

If you have a tight budget or not a lot of time though, you can totally visit Disney World for just a few days and have a blast. Just keep in mind that you may not get to do everything you want to. Make a list before you go, so you can prioritize the things that are most important to you! Where Should I Stay at Disney World? Book your Genie + experiences in the morning or as early in the day as possible, starting from 7:00 AM. Once you use your first Genie experience (or the arrival window passes), you can book another arrival window, and the cycle continues until the end of the day. Okay, let's start by making sure we are talking about the same place. Wearing my Cast Member ears for a minute – when you say you want to plan a “Disney” vacation, technically, you aren't really talking about one place. There are a lot of Disney properties around the world, and you want to get to the right one, right? So, let's clarify this. Recently, a friend of mine told me she was “terrified” to plan a trip to Disney because she was a “beginner!”“Say what?” I asked. “Disney? It's the Happiest Place On Earth! What could be scary about that?” She said she had no idea HOW to plan a Disney vacation because it is so overwhelming! She said she needed a “Disney for dummies” or Disney World 101 guide for beginners.”

Most people usually confuse it with the Genie+, but these are 2 different services, and the Lighting Lane add-ons are not included in the Genie+. The first time my husband ever went to Disney was when he was 25 years old on our honeymoon. We only had two days to see as much as possible, and boy did we ever. So, in this case, a Park Hopper was useful. Since a Walt Disney World trip will be (for many of you) a memorable experience for your kids that you’ll want to cherish, getting good photos is also important. If you are contemplating letting Disney’s roaming photographers around the parks take photos for you, read our Memory Maker & PhotoPass Review. 7. Itineraries & Attraction AdviceA day to sit by the Disney Resort Hotel pool or visit Disney's Typhoon Lagoon, hotel hop on the Monorail, or just stroll through Disney Springs, really helps make sure we return from our Disney vacation still loving Disney. After all, you are supposed to return to life and school recharged after a vacation! 9. Plan Your Trip Better With Disney Genie and Genie+ Services Resort Hopping — For some free fun outside of the parks you can visit different resorts on Disney World property. Most of them can be attractions in and of themselves due to the careful theming and high quality restaurants. Be aware that pools are reserved only for resort guests, but anyone can visit the resort lobbies and dine in resort restaurants. It did get a major facelift and a new name. Most notably, it received lots of new parking, a slew of new stores (many of which are designer names) and several new restaurants. We have the following flexible step by step plans for each park that cover our perfect days using standby-only: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT, which was last year’s big addition, also does not have a standby line. At least, for now. Walt Disney World has been setting up overflow queue and seems poised to ditch the virtual queue for that once the off-season rolls around.
