About this deal

I am a massive David Walliams fan, so I expected a lot from this book. As usual David Walliams and Tony Ross delivered the goods. David Walliams pushes the boundaries of children's literature with his laugh-out-loud hilarious and mischievous tales in "World's Worst Children," introducing us to the most revolting and entertaining characters that both kids and adults will delight in. Yes. I had to clean the girl’s lunch off the tank. She’d eaten Alphabetti spaghetti. The glass looked like a Scrabble set had exploded all over it.” I’m sorry, Bob,” said the old man, as he looked at the three tiny copper coins and one chipped button on the table. “I won’t be able to take you to the zoo this year for your birthday.” After an hour, the boy was ready to give up when he noticed another sign at the bottom of the tank. It read:

It was the ugliest face Bob had ever seen. And he had seen some ugly faces – his family photograph album was full of them. Wow! I believe that David Williams is a great writer where he writes books that are funny, emotional, happy and sad. But with a message behind them all. This is the story of how a boy called Bob meets a blobfish fish called Blob... And so begins a funny and heartwarming story of a very unusual friendship - and some very strange animals. An astonishingly brilliant World Book Day Book from one of today's favourite children's authors. PRAISE FOR DAVID WALLIAMS: A pleasure to read. A beguilingly funny, original and thought-provoking tale... hilarious - Amanda Craig, The Times I absolutely love David Walliams's books. In a few more years they will become classics - Sue Townsend, author of Adrian Mole, Guardian The new Roald Dahl - Evening Standard A triumphant mix of wit and warmth - Telegraph Books of the Year Ridiculously over-the-top and utterly delightful David Walliams takes us on a hilarious and space-tastic adventure as two hippos embark on a race to be the first on the moon. With his signature wit and captivating storytelling, Walliams brings this tale to life in a funny and heartwarming way. I read the book as I had read odd chapters at bedtime with my daughter but couldn’t quite get the story so told her that I would read it when she had finished it. I’m good for my word!

If you have a middle grade reader in your life, you have to get them some David Walliams novels. Trust me, they will absolutely love them. In fact, why not start them off with this one. There's no time like the present.History Makers: Female Writers Dominate the 2023 William Hill Sports Book of the Year Award Shortlist urn:oclc:record:976442740 Foldoutcount 0 Identifier blob0000wall Identifier-ark ark:/13960/s2s3mb3d6b0 Invoice 1652 Isbn 9780008221539 Bob hid his disappointment. He didn’t want to see his grandpa sad. “That’s OK. We can always go next year.” Well, this is my first David Walliams book and as I am aged 44, I suspect I am not really his target demographic. The boy’s favourite place was the local zoo. Grandpa would take his beloved grandson there every year as a special treat on Bob’s birthday. Together they would marvel at all the animals, and Grandpa would make up funny stories about how they got to look the way they did. This book was released by the Harper Collins publishers in the year 2010. The story of this novel appears to be an extraordinary and touching description from author David, who had already faced success with his previous novels called Mr Stink and The Boy in the Dress. This book had a great premise but unfortunately didn’t quite reach its potential. Shave off some of the WALLOPS and DOLLOPS of onomatopoeia, toilet humour and a few of the superfluous characters and focus on the strengths; namely the mythology, family ties and Alfred’s own epiphanies and this book would be a winner. This was a beautiful tonic to end another day at work. Mr Walliams knows how to make one snort and giggle with his take on the zoo and school bullies. This is the story of how a boy called Bob meets a blobfish fish called Blob...And so begins a funny and heartwarming story of a very unusual friendship - and some very strange animals. An astonishingly brilliant World Book Day Book from one of today's favourite children's authors. About This Edition ISBN: I mean it's okay as it is quite short and does not have much detail. I'd recommend it to someone that is going to start chapter books.
