About this deal

Electronic programmable radiator valves can be programmed from a central hub to heat to a specific temperature at different times of day. Otherwise Z2T uses Software Serial which requires compiling at 160MHz and might be unreliable on very rare occasions. In terms of the Eurotronic ones, was the problem with the software side (which presumably will get better, with Hubitat looking to support them) or with the hardware itself?

The following response tells you: "GetGroupCount":1 the light belongs to one group "GetGroup":[100] and the group number is 100. RSL : RESULT = { "ZbState" :{ "Status" : 33 , "Device" : "0x7120" , "Endpoint" : "0x01" , "ProfileId" : "0x0104" , "DeviceId" : "0x0051" , "DeviceVersion" : 1 , "InClusters" :[ "0x0000" , "0x0004" , "0x0005" , "0x0006" , "0x0702" , "0x0B04" ], "OutClusters" :[ "0x0019" , "0x000A" ]}} 16 : 17 : 43. Perhaps most important is that while with only a few limitations, most devices should in theory be able join/pair directly to any Zigbee solution regardless of brand and manufacturer, but because the Zigbee specifications allow for manufacturers to add custom non-standard features/functions to new products that are impossible for developers to predict and add support for in advance, (which is one of the readon why commerical hubs only whitelist their own brand of devices that have been tested and confirmed working) thus users of all and any Zigbee solutions that is not from the original manufacturer need to be aware that not all functionality will always be supported out-of-the-box and devices that use custom “ manufacturer-specific extensions ” to add functions and features not included in the standard Zigbee specifications will need device-specific code in the form of Zigbee device handlers/converters that decode/translate all custom features for them to fully work. It just means you can control the radiators in every room of your home individually through an app on your phone, anytime and anywhere. I read your thread and it seems that temperature and battery status can be read and a temperature goal set, which seems to be enough indeed.

SONOFF Official - this has instructions on how to enable your USB dongle with ZHA, after which, you can pair your TRV’s if they are supported. If your coordinator fails to start, try changing the PanID as it may conflict with one already in use. So if a device that uses custom “ manufacturer-specific extensions ” to add new non-standard functions and features is supported in one Zigbee solution but not another then that simply means that an end-user and a developer have not yet collaborated to create a new custom device device handler/converter for that specific device in that Zigbee solution. Note: even if the device left the network, it is still registered in Z2T and continues to appear on the UI.

TRV / Radiator Valve with Home Assistant? Which Smart TRV / Radiator Valve with Home Assistant?

Internally, Zigbee uses low-level identifiers and Z2T provides human readable versions for the main attributes and commands. If not defined, Z2T will fallback to sending a soft-reset to the MCU using a special serial sequence (which may fail on rare occasions). PROGRAMMING MODE ⏱ - In this mode, the device executes a preset week programming temperature time and temperature. As this would lead to incorrect values in my calibration script, I simply suppressed the feedback for 10 sec.Even if you have the oldest sort of radiator valves, the ones you turn manually that have little numbers on them that go from ‘Off’ up to ‘Max’, you can turn up and down the heat without having to crouch down and fiddle about. Programmable: Supports the manual setting of a 5+2 weekly schedule, with 4 time periods to choose from, providing you with maximum convenience. Again, in the case of ZHA that need for custom device handlers/converters + process for requesting support for new devices is explained for end users of the ZHA integration here → https://www. That way you can have a hotter or colder temperature set on individual radiators located in different rooms like for example hallways, bedrooms, home office, and launch-room.

Choosing Zigbee or Z-Wave radiator valve (TRV) - Hardware

A Zigbee device will continue to connect to a coordinator unless you ask it to "leave" or if you change the network configuration (change of PanID or network key - which means losing ALL devices). If you are using ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT via Ser2Net, Tasmota is only passing bytes between the controller (HA or Z2M) and the Zigbee MCU. The idea with a (manual) TRV is that you set it once - perhaps taking into account the temps in other rooms, then forget it and don't touch it. the area I am confused about is getting the right smart radiator value, as I don’t want to spend a lot of money on them, and I want them to connect to the current ZigBee network, and not have a second Hub just for them.Note that the valve MUST be screwed onto the radiator when the app tells you to do it, otherwise it will not be in the open position making it impossible to screw on. This year I’ve invested in Smart TRVs (Zigbee based), not to save additional energy (I doubt this can be done easily in my particular setup) but to automate stuff I’m now doing manually - i. Because it would be weird (especially explaining to my wife or guests) that they need to set the temperature to 18°C when they actually want 21°C. Binding allows a device to send command to another device in the same Zigbee network, without any additional logic. What people do not seem to understand about TRVs, is that they control a room or zone - to be effective DOORS MUST BE CLOSED!
