About this deal

This book is definitely written for children; and geared towards them, but the messages are a great reminder to adults as well. As millions across the world have now seen, Marcus Rashford is a young man who has never forgotten where he came from and the journey he has taken to achieve the dizzying heights of where he is now. By the time I got to the ball to take my shot, I had managed to get Donnarumma to guess the wrong way … but my shot missed the goal by an inch, hitting the post and going wide. Each chapter ends with some ‘Action Points’ – activities to help the reader think about what their skills are, what they want to achieve, and what they can do to get there, as well as tips for dealing with self-confidence issues and anxiety. Most weeks when I am playing for England or Manchester United, we will have a small session at the end of training where we all take penalties, and nearly everyone scores.

Sometimes the best way is to get back up, dust yourself off before taking a break to come up with a new plan so you can go back to the situation later. Since really getting in to football and Manchester United, Rashford has been one of my big favourites. Marcus has committed himself to combating child poverty in the UK and his book You Are a Champion is an inspiring guide for children about reaching their full potential. But on that day—July 11, 2021—and in the days after, I learned that there can be more than one way of winning. Featuring stories from Marcus’ own life, life lessons he picked up from his family, friends and those at Manchester United, as well as tips from performance psychologist Katie Wariner, the idea of You Are A Champion is to help young people turn their dreams into a reality. And for younger readers it’s not set out in boring old type: it’s laid out to catch the eye, with bold type, big type, type circled repeatedly, text interspersed with bouncy footballs, all a bit like the kind of inspirational card you get at Paperchase. In You Are A Champion: Unlock Your Potential, Find Your Voice and Be the BEST You Can Be, Marcus Rashford MBE draws on stories from his own life to show you that success is all about the mindset. Marcus has spoken for, and inspired, millions of children who are from similar backgrounds to him, helping them to see that your current situation does not have to determine where you are going.

You Are a Champion by Marcus Rashford review | Evening Standard

I know it isn’t always the smoothest, and sometimes you might get stuck and need help, but you are capable of amazing things. Penalty shootouts can be nerve-racking, one of the hardest things to do as a professional soccer player, and some of the best players in the world have missed penalties in shootouts. Also, did not expect this book to make me cry yet the amount of love he has for his mum, his nanna, his family and his friends just made me very emotional! Rather than complaining he explains why, in a way children would understand, you can't always do what you want. This was a really wonderful read, and one that would help any kid looking to achieve greatness and realise they can do anything if they put enough work in.You can read this before You Are a Champion: How to Be the Best You Can Be PDF EPUB full Download at the bottom.
