You may have heard this a couple of times that is almost sounds like a cliche, “it’s cheap yet sounds like an expensive guitar. And if you’re into classical guitars,well, then you know they have much wider necks than standard acoustics, and the F335’s neck is narrow even by acoustic guitar standards. What this means is the overall “body shape” is one of the most common out there (it’s actually named after a British battleship).

If you’re even a moderately-experienced guitarist, you can probably skip over this model, unless you want one just for practice or to take to the campfire.The Yamaha is one of the best acoustic guitars for beginners that want a more vintage looking and feeling guitar, as this one has the old-school laminated spruce and meranti wood. Combining a laminate spruce top with a meranti back and sides, this guitar produces a rather traditional tone, and the rosewood fingerboard and bridge just seal the deal for us. Instead of polishing a decent piece of wood, the company has taken a bad cut (as many companies do) and simply filled in the imperfections–of which, you can be assured, there are many. Tried and true combinations such as a spruce top and rosewood back and sides offer a well-balanced tone that the majority of players enjoy. The laminate that Yamaha used on the guitar makes the wood feel fake and plastic without that natural finish you might want. This will not have a massive impact on the performance of the guitar, but it can be a bit confusing for people who are used to a more conventional setup. Great sound– of course you want to sing some good songs with your friends or love ones during these times. Meranti may not be the most common would, but it is a cheap wood, and it has an almost plastic feel to it that may make it unpleasant for some musicians, especially when the guitar is digging in to their stomach while they sit strumming chords.
