About this deal

With the help of a long umbrella (or you can use just about any stick, which is at least 60-70cm long) and a lot of patience I managed to extend the net back to its rightful location, so that it is fully stretched in the boot. If it is the same as a 2006 Astra hatch, drop down your back seat to gain access to the boot area, you should see a round plastic cap on the plastic fascia of the boot lid, remove the cap with a flat object, get a quarter drive extension bar with tee bar on the end, push the bar well into the hole, you will feel a small spring effect, turn the bar and the boot lid should release. Rather it sends a pulse to the BCM which in turn sends an unlock signal back to the hatch solenoid to pull the rod to unlock the catch. Will release the boot lid tomorrow from inside the car and check the wiring, but the car has only done 50,000 miles.

Still Opel should had though of some mechanisms to keep the net securely locked, and not allow it to subtract, if it sits a bit loose in the two pockets. Well the problem is that as the microswitch does not work in any way shape or form, therefore there was no way to tell whether it is locking or not and it never occurred to check for the noise of the central locking activating on the tailgate mechanism. There`s normally a small rod that connects the locking motor to the latch that can come off,not sure if it`s the same on 2006 Astra but it probably is, is the panel held on by plastic push in clips. Came to this forum for answers but then figured out if I press the unlock button twice in quick succession then it opens the boot no problem. Try bridging the switch wiring first and see if the hatch motor operates -y ou will have to either unplug the boot light switch or keep it pressed while you do that otherwise it will not work because it will know the hatch is already open.

WLTP Figures shown are for comparison purposes and should only be compared to the fuel consumption and CO 2 values of other cars tested to the same technical standard. There are 3 pins inside the lock plastic socket, one had corroded completely away, sure that is the one that brings the boot light on. Second thing I would do is get yourself an Opcom unit as there are so many sensors and microswitches on the Twintop roof and they all have to be in the correct position for the roof to work. The sunroof switch or control module may be faulty and not sending the correct signal to open the sunroof.I can manually release it via the hatch in the back seats, this alowwex me to find the broken wires on the hinge, replaced it with a brand new genuine vauxhall one, still no joy the boot doesnt open and the roof doesnt work. Either the locking mechanism has gone bad, the wiring that goes through the rubber boot is broken or the microswitch that you press, when wanting to open the boot is bad.

Astra H twintop boot wont open snd convertible roof not Astra H twintop boot wont open snd convertible roof not

actually, i have been able to open the boot by releasing the catch with my finger - not sure if something has been removed from the garage visit, but i don't remember there being as a big a gap before. Ok, well things have moved on slightly, still haven't had a chance to play with the boot latch/switch but this morning the mid high brake light was working again. I have a beeping alarm sound on my Astra Twin Top when driving, warning me the roof is not locked correctly or the convertible roof system is not recognizing the sequence has completed and closed correctly, and my boot WILL NOT OPEN. It might sound like a random question, but, on the GTC, is the boot button on the keyfob supposed to work?if the latch opens and moves relatively easily by hand (theres also an easy release catch usually on the left, but when inside the car, to the right of the latch). The values do not take into account in particular use and driving conditions, equipment or options and may vary depending on the format of tyres.
