About this deal

Be sure to check out their reviews on their blogs (linked in my blog post) and mine as well at PhDiva. I found Trust Me to be a real slow burner, not really gaining momentum until the last fifty pages or so. That was when I decided to take the plunge into writing full-time, which I have been doing since summer 2017. I had worked out the bad guy from pretty early on, largely because of how heavy-handedly the author tries to point readers in a different direction, and when the reveal finally comes the novel finishes abruptly and the perpetrator never really felt credible to me.

He's super tall, has a beautiful wife, an inquisitive young son he adores, a comfortable profession as a part time schoolteacher, AND is happy and content with life. Zaczęła się dość niewinnie i nie wciągnęła mnie na sto procent od pierwszej strony, ale miała w sobie coś takiego, co kazało mi iść dalej. The premise and plot are well executed and the pace is fast with a few occasions to allow you to catch your breath! This is a compulsive and enthralling game of cat and mouse that features a really unusual and original premise and a completely unpredictable and twisty narrative. Sure he was a little too trusting and naïve but pray tell, who among us has not been that, at some point or another.

With so many characters, some seemingly quite unpleasant I found it impossible to know who was trustworthy, if any of them were. Four year old William spots his mother's familiar car entering into a below ground parking lot of a hotel in North London while riding in the back seat of his father's car.

Most satisfactory is It’s a straightforward psychological thriller, no clever devices, but that doesn’t mean it’s dull or boring by any stretch. It has the same license plate as mum’s car… Just as Joe and William realize it is Joe’s wife Mel driving, it pulls off the road into a parking garage. The opening scene of Trust Me is probably the most believable part of this idiosyncratic novel as it lurches into seriously far-fetched territory and didn’t make a great deal of sense to me for well over a quarter of the novel. She's about to get up to walk to the vestibule when she spots a blonde woman in a rust coloured jacket rushing past the window; it's her but where is she going. Ellen is an intelligent woman but it is her emotions and heart that lead her decisions where Mia is concerned, her protective nature comes out and ultimately puts her in some very frightening positions. In absolute disbelief, Ellen has no idea what to do and she decides to open the rucksack Kathryn left behind. In fact whenever I had a spare half-hour, I wrote – on trains, planes, in bed, at the kitchen table before anyone else was up, by the pool while my kids had swimming lessons.
