About this deal

This is Dr Jane Foster, played by Natalie Portman, suffering from a serious illness which has been put into remission by the mighty cosmic powers of Thor’s once shattered hammer Mjölnir. Thor himself has conquered his weight issues, and is now a fine figure of alpha-maledom who literally makes young goddesses faint in one scene after he is disrobed and his manhood (or rather godhood) is revealed to them. However, Stark and Rogers jest that Vision being an artificial intelligence prevents him from being truly 'worthy' of wielding Mjolnir. Gorr is tired of the gods crushing the little guy with their general entitlement, indifference, and selfishness.

Thor: Love and Thunder’ Review: Hammer Time Again for Chris ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Review: Hammer Time Again for Chris

Thor Odinson (Chris Hemsworth) is surprised when, after an eight-year separation, his ex-girlfriend Foster (Natalie Portman) transforms into The Mighty Thor. Thor re-ignites a war between the Frost Giants and Asgard, and Odin banishes him to Earth, stripped of superhuman abilities. But when a foe appeared that only she could defeat, Jane completed that final transformation, and died a true hero.

The MCU TV series Hawkeye features a fictional in-universe performance of Rogers: The Musical, a Broadway musical featuring an actor playing Thor wielding a prop Mjolnir. It's one of many new Marvel projects we're looking forward to in 2022, though the film has now broken a record for the shortest gap between an MCU movie's release date and its first trailer. Love and Thunder's characters are all running towards the same conclusion: That, no matter how long or short our time on Earth (or any planet) may be, we're all inevitably living for the benefit of others. Bale is playing his role like he's definitely not in a Waititi movie about goofy screaming goats; he's playing Gorr like a tragic hero of myth. We'll have to see the movie to find out truly how much of this comic book history might figure in Natalie Portman’s incarnation of Thor.

To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who -- to Thor's surprise -- inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Also, both characters are definitively queer now, though Korg might be more a question, making Love and Thunder the gayest movie in the MCU, and just after Pride Month, so take that for what you will, folks. The prologue with his character is heartbreaking and yet understated (and truth be told, having young children in my household, it hit me more personally), and I turned to my fiancé and said, "I'm supposed to not like this guy? Looking lean and mean, with a zombie pallor and glowing demon eyes beneath his wispy white cowl, Christian Bale brings plenty of malevolent intensity to that role, along with haunted reminders of the man of faith he once was, robbed of his beloved daughter when the gods abandoned their parched planet to drought and famine. The film is probably on its strongest ground with the most purely absurd touches, such as the squabbling rivalry between the hammer Mjölnir, and his new weapon, the axe Stormbreaker - which is always crowding into the frame suspiciously when Thor starts swoonily hanging out with Mjölnir, unable to accept that Mjölnir is with Dr Foster now," wrote Bradshaw.Marvel Studios’ “Thor: Love and Thunder” finds the God of Thunder on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced—one of self-discovery.
