Shortly before her disappearance Jessica saw Rachel and a man storm out of her room in a heated argument. That grabbed me from the start and never let go, and honestly, I felt like I was in the middle of a real-life investigation as the pace of it was so relentless. The ending also feels a bit rushed, I wish it was a bit more fleshed out cause I would like to know more of what happen next.This book is recommended for fans of love crime thriller authors like PD James, Deborah Crombie, and Heather Gudenkauf. for me the reason behind whodunnit didn't pack enough of a punch in relation to time it took to get to the end. I felt I was part of the investigation along side James, and I honestly was kept guessing until the end. There are some twists and turns as the investigation progresses with one revelation leading to the other, and many more suspects emerging. DI James Walker is fast becoming a favourite of mine along with Alex Pine being one of my top authors.

The middle was only a slight bit dragging but DI Walker with his team sure did see the case to the end. The first half I read really quickly, but then I put it down and didn’t pick it up for another 2 weeks. A real page turner… I am now a firm follower of DI James Walker’‘A fast-paced gripping read with plenty of twists and turns. Cool-season weeds and invasive grass maintain their green colors and stick out like a sore thumb on a yard filled with dormant grass during winter, making them an easy target for anyone struggling to fight weeds. The suspects and characters in this book seriously need to get a grip and tell the truth when asked by the police.Just make sure the grass on your lawn has completely turned brown before spraying non-selective herbicides. This book had me hooked from the first page, I didn't want to put it down and this was one of the twistiest and most complicated murder cases I've ever read about. Additionally, your weed killer should require minimal treatment cycles so you can get rid of your weeds quickly and easily.
